I actually was searching for ways to turn it off just a few years ago because it was so loud on my iMac I didn’t want it blasting in my house every time I turned on the computer. Since you couldn’t adjust the sound level it was too loud. Even dug into terminal commands and couldn’t turn it off and people claimed it was built into the computer and not just a sound. Then magically it stopped happening and I thought I turned it off somehow. Learned later that Apple disabled it. Though I do like the option to have it if I feel like it.
