THANK her?? She is a rough horrible bather, who actually turned the perma-smile most sloths wear into open mouth terror. First time I've ever seen a sloth actually look traumatized. I'd like 5 minutes alone with this monster to give her a "bath". That was like witnessing abuse. Horrible!

The baby sloth actually needed someone that was a very gentle caregiver to wash and dry it, put lotion on it and brush its hair. There was no reason to handle such a delicate little creature with anything other than the utmost love and care.

They hold on to those stuffies by instinct, as they usually would have held on to their mother, but most of these sloths are orphans, so they get plushies as a substitute.

Unfortunately this sanctuary is know for being cruel and inhumane. It is more a prison than sanctuary 😢

@@EL-mc3cs The claims of mistreatment/abuse at this sanctuary are actually just unsubstantiated accusations made by 2 former employees. The claims were made, like, 6 (?) years ago now and there's still no proof of any kind of abuse.

I do not appreciate how roughly she is handling this baby. I've never seen the natural smile of a sloth turn to terror and open mouth fear. I've read about this so-called "sanctuary" in Costa Rica, and they apparently have used the babies as a roadside tourist attraction rather than actual rescue, and supposedly never release them back into the wild. So sad.
