I'm Ugandan. Passionate about aviation and community. All my life, I have volunteered with local humanitarian NGOs. In 2016, I went to Nairobi to study my Flight Operations course. A schoolmate introduced me to this organization where I would go on weekends and join the rest to cook and serve food and clothing to street people. That is where I met Mike. Very friendly and easy-going. Later on, I joined the same flight school Mike was at, but I was in the Flight Operations class. I look at the photos we took in these activities in Huruma and I tear. I left Nairobi before completing my Flight Operations training due to financial constraints. It's inspiring to see this story aired on BBC.

The story started very well, and then boom " I thank the guy who supposedly plans everyone's life, puts 1000s of people in shitty situations and then takes one or two out of inhumane situations just to show his powers" I would never thank someone so cocky and heartless. Thousands are left in the street, one is saved and the whole world thanks god? nope.

I have met both Michael and Fredrick. They are amazing young men who run a feeding program for families living on the street, (also known as VIPs). Also, they take some of they young mums with babies and set them up in houses to get them off the street and teach them basic skills to help them earn a decent living. These guys are outstanding inspirations and I'm glad to see positive stories coming out of Africa.
