Not all presidents had living wives so their daughters or close female relatives became the formal hostesses of the White House. Only later was the title of " First Lady" coined. Look it up.

I remember how she was stunned about getting the cancer diagnosis saying something like “ to think of all those push-ups I have done” Got to check on that. …. Now I googled . Yes it was 64 . I knew she didn’t make it to 70 but 64 ? Yet she was a smoker .
