For people who are genuinely confused by like pace ratings and things. There's a lot of things that influence ratings and stats. Obviously player performance, but at the same time it's a game so they need to balance things. For instance... Jack's 72 -> 76. The pace would have dropped because of the position change. Wingers are just pacier to play the wings and cross. CAMs are rated lower because stats like shooting/passing/dribbling tend to be higher. His defending stayed the same because he's a forward so that would tend to come into it. Same thing for Declan's pace. He most likely is quicker than his pace shows, but he plays CB and CDM. An example, if a forward and a CB have the same pace, the CB should catch him almost every time because they would have less ground to cover, etc. Just like how wing backs tend to have higher pace but lower defensive stats than CBs. They are both defensive positions but they're balanced differently. This is part of the reason wing backs made their way to CB on FiFA 21 later on - The better cards came out and the wing backs got faster and got decent defensive stats so CBs weren't needed as the wing backs could close the gap and the def. was enough. You can literally see things like this when you make a pro on pro clubs. You can have two set ups, the exact same, RF and ST and the RF will be quicker naturally because of their intended role in the game.
