I’m 23 able to make a living off only a canon rebel and 70D! No help from family they actually told me to get a job and never believed in me..kicked me out was homeless, started shooting more videos/ saved and got my own spot and still at it 🙏🏼 I can’t wait to get a RED & So much more equipment. I’m just here to say anything is possible just believe in yourself and craft 🎥

Me, also 23, i started from 550D that my sister gave me last 2017 (very old) and make videos for my portfolio. After, i also keep buying and selling sony a6000 camera from my earnings, after i saved enough money... now, i just bought my 77D and i still keeping it moving

Same, I really relate to this kid but I kinda feel left out since I'm muslim :P. I bought his exact setup a few months ago - a GH4, sigma 18-35 and a (much cheaper) adapter, and I'm 18 years old. I've just recently started shooting music videos and hope to start getting into weddings in the future.

The faith step stuff really resonated with me as a non-religious person too. This industry is an absolute roller coaster of confidence and having faith in yourself is the most important thing you can do.

Let me tell you something. I don't like the idea that in order to succeed and do great work you need great equipment. Unfortunately for me, i've never had a lot of money so I've been stuck using a Canon T2i for pretty much the last decade. I'd like to say i'm a master and wizard with it and have been impressed with what I've been able to do with it. Ultimately I think it comes down to the lens. With great lenses the sky is the limit. No really, you'll need a drone to get the sky.

Amen. As a Serviceman that found a true passion in film, this video is so inspirational. I only have my cellphone but I am getting better and better and better. I almost waited to get a better camera but I learned in the army the best gear will never replace the fundamentals.

I am a photographer in the Dominican Republic, started charging for my first wedding on August 26, 1981, and I am still working and still learning, and still enjoying what I do. You will learn a lot more when you start teaching others, you will see!

as soon as he said "my mom's organization Bit of Hope Ranch and my dad's church" I knew how he was able to make $100K a year. I am not saying having a successful family is a bad thing, I am saying it is definitely a good shortcut

That sounds like "poor me." Are you really so disenfranchised? What did he get from his family besides a couple of short-term loans. Well, maybe a huge work ethic. You know this guy has done the WORK to get where he is. Stop whining and cultivating victim status and just raise your energy and focus. You'll have a lot more fun.

Thats amazing! I also started making many videos with my iphone. After making a few video and realizing that i love doing that, i gathered all my savings together and bought a GH5 to step up the game. It was absolutely worth it.

Christian filmmaker from Melbourne here! Really encouraging story from Emmaus! I too started from helping out with church media and eventually got a GH4 until today. Now I have used the extent of what the GH4 can do and God willing that I can buy a camera like the Ursa Mini Pro equivalent price range camera.

I watched this a few years back and I had 1 camera and very limited resources it inspired me to push my self. I'm watched now again in my office despite the pandemic, i was able to succeed drastically. God Bless. I cant wait to watch it again having to be grown exponentially from now :)
