In this video you'll learn how to use a clicker the right way. The clicker is nothing more than an aiding device for some extra precision, not meant to dictate your shooting style! Make sure you don't rely on it so you can adapt to less-than-ideal situations.

I have watched several different experienced target-recurve archers explain/demonstrate the clicker on KZfaq. But, you are the first and only one to emphasize that, "YOU control the clicker and the shot; don't let the clicker control you and when you release the arrow." Perhaps for VERY experienced, HIGHLY skilled archers, a perfect hold and a perfect aim are the same thing. For me, however, not so much! Thank you for your guidance.

From the video with Jaab I learnt the motion to trigger clicker is more of a push in bow hand shoulder.

If you/one use the rhomboid to contract to execute the shoot , it has a set range of motion that will almost always be the same due to anatomy. so how do you decide to setup the clicker when taking into account the human reaction time ?is not your anchor and alignment the basis of draw length making a clicker almost useless?

Do you have any tips or tricks for the ones that are controlled by their clicker? To me it became like a Pavlov reaction; when the clicker goes, the arrow leaves. No chance of holding it for even a second.

Hi Sjef, a quick question... what's your arrow lenght in reference with your draw lenght. I noticed in this video that it seems you have quite a short arrow. I am presently set-tuning my sons clicker at this point and trying to mimic your clicker position as seen on this video. Best regards and more power to Triple Trouble Archery from the Philippines.

Probably the most controversial clicker question that comes up when I talk with coaches is whether or not you should look at the arrow under the clicker. Some insist that you shouldn't, others that you should. Sjef, seeing as you say you sometimes look at it, could you tell us why you do it, and when? Thanks! :)

@@TripleTroubleArchery when the brain is conditioned to anticipate the click and you develop tp clicker controls you
@TripleTroubleArchery
@TripleTroubleArchery 4 жыл бұрын
@@mortenjacobsen5673 Thanks for explaining. Probably not worth a complete video, but here goes nothing: Start off by going to blank bale and shoot some arrows without clicker, holding your anchor position for at least 3-5 seconds. When you get the hang of this, (30 successful attempts), try using the clicker. On blank bale, you should be able to do this. If not, close your eyes and just focus on your hands moving away from each other. Then, when you get the hang of shooting with your clicker again, try holding the string for an additional 2 seconds before actually releasing. This is to train the brain into controlling the clicker rather than being controlled. If you can consistently do this, it's time to put up a target (short distance, not challenging). You can increase the distance slowly as you become more comfortable with shooting with a clicker on a target, until you have reached your desired distance and shot. I hope this helps, good luck!
