That last bit for the Kick Drum and the Bass with the Dynamic Compressor is what I was looking for :) Thank you. My Bass tends to variate too much from Note to note on the low frequencies but I want to keep the rest of the Frequencies alive so this way I don't need to compress everything too much and the bass flows through

I appreciate all you do Bobby. I use F6 dynamic mode all the time for more transparent surgical work on all instruments. I tend to use c6 multiband for tonal shaping a vocal. Great vid. 👍 many thanks.

I know it sounds weird...but I almost never use Multiband compression until its the mixing/mastering stage of the production. I kind of have fell in love with F6 RTA dynamic cuts into Transient Response into SSL Channel strip into 1176 into FX Sends combo. ...except with EDM sounds...but most of the time I just use whatever multiband compressor preset is in the FX section of the VST

I almost always use a multi-band compressor for chugging guitars, but will always reach for a dynamic EQ at the master buss level if there is a low freq build up, or if the cymbals are getting out of hand. Dynamic EQ is also very useful for some singers that sound a little shrill when they push.

I recently started using multiband compression on vocals and like what it could do to the sound. I was less impressed when I tried it on the master chain, but maybe that takes more practice to get right.

Note: There's dynamic EQs out there that do work with ratios, like TDR NOVA.

Yeah, there’s another one from ToneBoosters called just “Equaliser” and it’s possible to set ratios for the bands as well as to set the bands to “downward compression” and “upward compression” modes. how crazy is that lol? but anyway, it’s a great powerful tool from a fairly respected developer, i seem to like it

I usually use a multiband compressor in sidechain mode for groups, for example to let the fundamental of the snare pass through guitar or whatever... would it be more appropriate to use dynamic eq for this task? if i tend to go to multiband is for it´s more flexible and control of parameters (fabfilter MB) What you think? thanks!

I used to put C4 on guitar bus to control palm mutes.But i have found out that even if all is on zero this Waves C4 changes tone of guitar sound.And i know it was not the issue some time ago.Now it is.

What about using c6 external when some frequencies affecting main vocals? Is it a good idea?😊

I do this all the time :) Send the voice to the sidechain input on either the F6 or C6 plugins to remove some frequencies when the vocal are present.

On bass, I like sidechaining a dynamic EQ to the kick at around 75-100 or so. Unless it's a faster song, then this just sounds like trash :P

Quick tip: use dynamic EQ only. Forget mb compression. You don't need it.

Dynamic EQ Bland and Static? I think you mixed up Static vs Dynamic EQ. Key Word, DYNAMIC.
