Today's video is about how Apple has copied some of android best features. I look forward to the discussion.

Im not sure if you can call these “copied features” if you consider that the iPad Pro from May 2017 had 120Hz and the 12" MacBook from early 2015 had USB-C already, followed by the 2016 MacBook Pro. I know this topic is about iPhones and Android phones but I can’t really get behind to say that Apple “copied” these features from Android even though Apple’s other products had it earlier already. The first android that had 120Hz was the “Razer Phone” released in November 2017. And the first android phone that had USB-C was sometime in 2015. What im basically trying to say is that Apple already knew about these kind of technology years before bringing them to the iPhone but they just didn’t and by the time they did android phones already had them. It’s pretty much unknown why Apple kept using lightning in their iPhones while having USB-C in their iPads and MacBooks and 120Hz in their iPads for years. So, did android phones have these features before the iPhone? Yeah. Did Apple “copy” these features _from_ android phones? No.

In a way they still did I’m strictly talking about phones, not tablets or MacBooks. Yes Apple knew about the technologies at the time but per usual they wait forever to bring innovative features to the iPhone to stay competitive with android.

So i use both. My sim tends to stay in the iPhone for majority of the time.

I agree with everything. I own both. I have to say. My s22 has overheated since day one. Loses wifi and loses cell signal. Waiting for an update to fix this since 2022. Having said that. Even with its restricted eco system my iphone 13 mini with only 60 hrtz is smoother than my s22 120hertz and its been this way for ever. Not to mention this s22 spell checker is garbage.

Dang. I hate that you’ve had an experience like that with your S22… that would really put a bad taste in my mouth I use both as well, and I think a common misconception is that iPhones never have bugs or performance issues, which isn’t true

That's so strange... Maybe you got a lemon.. I never had those experiences at all... Plus everyone uses Gboard as good as Samsung's keyboard is..

In my opinion the problem with Apple and fast charging lies in how small capacity their batteries have. Take a look at Apple’s flagship 15 Pro - it has a battery estimated around 3300mah. That ain’t much for modern smartphones, the only way it works out to keep up with competition having such little capacity is software optimization of iOS and energy efficient SoC. But can we find a way to work around battery degradation? No. That’s why they stick to slow charging. Android phones with fast charging have 4500-5000mah batteries at average, that’s why negative side effects of fast charging in terms of battery degradation are not as bad as they could be with iPhone’s small batteries. Take a look at the current Samsung lineup - S24+ and Ultra support charging up to 45W, meanwhile basic S24 with its 4000mah battery stays limited to 25w. Why? Because low capacity batteries in S24’s might be due to replacement before the warranty runs out, as their performance out of the box is much lower compared to smartphones equipped with more capable energy storage. Going down to 80% condition could render such phone unusable, when 5000mah battery at the same level still has some gas to go. Apple was already accused of slowing down their older models to preserve battery life - I guess that’s why they play it safe with fast charging. Let’s be honest - most users are dumb. Even if Apple provided us fast charging option with a advice to use it only in case of emergency most people would just run it over and over again each day. By the way, I’m not defending Apple. It’s time to get some proper batteries in their products, their competition easily fits 4500/5000mah into devices with similar size.

Thanks for a good comment. You raise some fair points. I’ve always found a bit funny that when Apple brings a feature to the iPhone, that android has had for years people think it’s the best thing ever. There are solid rumors that iPhone 16 series will support 40w charging, that’s a nice increase. And now that the iPhone 15 pro models have the option to stop charging at 80% along with better charging optimizations they have those safeguards in place for those who are extra worried about battery longevity.

Another thing to remember is standards like SuperVOOC have a completely different battery set up than what Apple uses in the iPhone to enable those fast charging speeds without heavily impacting the health of the battery.
AFTER 13 YEARS... I finally tried an Apple iPhone 15 Pro.
