Brett is so in touch with his feelings in his writing, acting and in real life. He doesn’t have a problem saying he loves someone.

This show is amazing. Had no idea Roy Kent was associated with the project, but it’s making more sense why I like it so much.

So that's who the interviewer is - thanks, will be looking for more of her interviews! So empathetic and has a touch of Jimmy Fallon "in the momentness" in her interview, really focusing on what they say.

I thought the interviewer came up with questions which the actors probably hadn’t received in their other interviews. I think they may have appreciated something different and they had to put some thought into their responses.

@@mehblahmehblah I see what you are saying, but I also am confident that if its annoying and distracting to a viewer, its likely annoying and distracting to an interviewee. Some indication of active listening is welcome. Constant indication of active listening is interruption.

Absolutely agree. It's distracting when an interviewer uh-huhs and can't wait to interrupt. What she's doing is beyond active listening and I found it immensely annoying. IMO.

I think that Roy Kent come for a few sessions after whatever the outcome of Ted Lasso. Roy is cast in the Hollywood movie (as a stun man) and he goes to Jason to talk about his issues with his break-up with Keely or his relationship with Jamie or Ted. A cross over after the last episode of Ted Laso

This is interesting, but I don't necessarily agree. Yes, they are both about grief, very specifically about losing your partner, but Gervais approach to this is quite different. He is mainly a stand up kinda guy and you can tell that's what he was aiming for the most - laugs, the sort of cheap borderline rude kind that he is known for. Which isn't bad, I loved it but Shrinking really serves a much warmer more sohisticted access to this storyline where the core focuses on healing, selfreflecting, relationships and maybe adulthood in general. But then again, maybe I am wrong here and Gervais actually did tried to step out of his comfort zone and yea..didn't quite catch fire.

Brett saying that no one lives a completely miserable life so he hates seeing projects that are purely grim seems like a very ignorant view. There are clearly people who have entirely miserable existences, lifelong debilitating depression or oppression without any light or humour. I can understand him saying he doesn't want to see that view in entertainment, but to deny the lives of these people not only as if they don't exist, but actually saying they don't exist is intellectual and emotional naivete.

Funny that therapy has had a turnaround - either the profession is better at listening or people are getting more comfortable being vulnerable and opening up versus blowing stuff up or hkmicide as Brett mentioned.
