I'm Argentinian and I remember the first time I saw a black person in my life, it was when we went on a vacation to the USA with my family. I was 8 y.o. at the time, and was playing with some toys in the hotel while a black kid with my same age came by and we played together. At the moment it was completely surreal for me, so much so I remember the kid and his mama's face to this day, more than 20 years later. I think he was called Aaron or Daron or something like that, hope they are doing fine.

From birth, children aren't biassed or racist. It's something that we're taught or exposed to as we grow up. For example: If we put a large group of children - of every single ethnic group - together and raise them with sincere love, such things as bias, racism and bigotry would not exist amongst them, even when they're grown up. (I understand that there still would be a possibility of ' contamination ' when they're grown up, but that would only be the exception to the rule.)

As terrible as it was, at least Argentina did Something to prevent more Racial Strife in the future. Compare this with America, which did Nothing to resolve its Racial Differences and suffers from Race Riots and much Racial Violence even to this very day. I used to be confused when people would say that racism is a fear of a certain group. I would say in my mind "no this is hatred" but through learning the history that is not taught in schools it is indeed a deep fear and also obsession. When we don't cower and love and marry each other it evokes fear in some of these people. We are what they project on, all that they repress and we are what they need to feel superior so making us inferior is so key to how they feel about themselves. When we act and show that we are human it threatens and effects every illusion and trap they have set up for us. Racism is a mind disease.
@victorycounselingcenters323
@victorycounselingcenters323 Жыл бұрын
I would say it is a disease of the heart as they are jealous, making it a heart disease that feeds their minds and we see the results in their behaviors toward people of African descent regardless of country. If we term it as a mind disease, they will use it to get mental health diagnosis, then money to stay home and be racist, while Africans go to work worldwide.

Except it's all fake propaganda. There are no blacks in Argentina because 1) There were few slaves in this part of the Spanish empire (because it was a poor viceroyalty) 2) Slavery was abolished immediately after the declaration of independence (unlike the United States) 3) There was never any segregation, and interracial marriages were common, which led to racial dilution. Colloquially, Argentines refer to themselves as a "crisol de razas" > melting pot of races".

It is extremely sad that the men of their time thought there was any type.of superiority by the color of your skin. I wish we had more information from 1813 and on. Its sad that history isnt told how it really went down. We have to teach our wrong doings to humanity so further generations do not allow things like this to ever happen again.

I like your thoughts, but we can't just blame it on "the men of their time" because even today, the government has not done anything to confess the wrong done to the Blacks by their forefathers, nor has it planned any reparations for the remnant of the black community. Instead, Argentinians show pride in their forefathers. If the people want to blame it on their ancestors, they must demonstrate at least that they're sorry for the wrong committed against the Blacks.

@@Tacticoolpapi I feel so bad for my innocent black, with innocent loving heart as of that time, to face such horror, God understand it all, only him alone will fight our battle, though we are not recognize in this world, since curse followed Cush, through Noah, but we have passed so many generations, so such curse of rejection intimidation, reproach, is gone forever, because me personally I have been so trouble concerning all this painful moment of my beautiful black, I started writing songs just to comfort and console myself, because is difficult to swallow, I have taken it upon myself to end it by confronting our maker, every day and night, I know am coming out with a better solution, blacks are patient loving people, we can not fight the white for the evil they did to us,, because God allowed it, for a purpose, Now our maker the God of all flesh have to rewrite our destiny, this is the time, , there's a solution to every pending sorrow.am happy now because God of Gentiles is ready to act, Isaiah 61 verse 1 to the end is for us, Joel chapter 2 verse 25 to 28 is for us , Isaiah 60 verse 1 is for us, Blacks arise and shine for the glory of the lord is risen.nothing more to fear our Savior have come.we need to forgive the white. And move on, though it's very painful and mind blowing. That is the reason why I feel so pain, when so many suitors came to marry my beautiful daughter, she keep sending them away that she can never marry a black man, unless America man, I have told this daughter of my , how much white hate blacks and want us dead, till now, she is still waiting for American man, other white came to marry her, she refused, that it must be America, many Americans and Canada came for my hands in marriage here in Africa, I rejected them, because I love my adorable Africa, my daughter keep blaming me for getting married to his father a black man when i was opportune to marry American man, this white Americans still left there finger print here,in Africa, our daughters is now going to them after all the evil they did to us, I have forgiven them, I have also ask my daughter to continue with her choice. Why do they always get the end of slavery date wrong? We ended it in 1813, but we didn't have a constitution to add it to until the first one in 1853. That's why there are so few Afro-Argentinians as you call 'em, we stopped exporting them in the XIX century, the reason why there are so few here is because the ones who weren't brought up to the Rio de la Plata stayed in Africa. War and disease also killed a lot of white people, but those had a renewable stream of Europeans coming to expand their demographic. As for tango, tango is like Jazz, everyone knows that it has roots in African rythyms, but it also has roots in Gypsy, Jew, Souther Italian and Spanish music, even has some eastern European influences in there with the accordeons and how relatively popular polkas are in folkloric music.

As a black man I’m very proud to be black regardless what we go through since our ancestors until now but one day we will win this fight, if I die today and If i have to come back in this world i still gonna ask to be black I’m not gonna take the easy road never because I know we will win the fight. If we still existing in this world after everything they did to us, it’s means God has a bigger plan for us. Being black is like born poor, when you become rich you feel so proud of yourself and you enjoy your money compare to someone who’s born rich. There’s something so special on us that’s why they all hates us. So proud to be one ❤️

Sooo...let me get this right: where ever you go, you aim to single out the folk that look black to you, and then teach them to hate folk that look different on the basis of grievances that may be several centuries old, say it's all hatred, and ascribe that same behavior to folk not even alive back then.... Right. You say black consciousness, I say racism. That's all you'd seem to be teaching. And, by the way, Argentina only has, as per the 2020 census, 0,34% of people identifying as of African descent. Those are not necesarily ethnicaly black. I have some North African in me, by way of Andalucía, only a few generations back, and I'm so white I glow in the dark. The real porcentage or African black you will see walking around is waaaaay lower than that. Would you be teaching "darker" folk that maybe have more African in their mix to hate me and make me "responsible" for my "percieved luck"? Our entire country (Argentina) is of mixed race... Who is going to decide which or us have enough African to qualify for your racist "education"? What if we don't look black enough to the one deciding? Food for thougth, maybe?

With all the due respect to my Argentinian brothers and sisters and the author of this video, the picture that is shown in it it is not from the Argentinian Revolution but it was painted by Carlos María Herrera, a uruguayan artist (1875-1914) in Montevideo, Uruguay. The name of the picture is "El grito de Ascencio", and depicts the moment in 28th February 1811 when the Oriental Revolution (the independentist movement started in the eastern strip of the Uruguay River, today, my country, la República Oriental del Uruguay. Both revolutions started almost at the same time but with different results, Argentina and Uruguay. So, just to clarify, this pictute is about the uruguayan independence. Some of the artist's work is found in argentina's museums, that may be the cause of confusion. Thank you very much.

@@hughsolorz5184 Yes because Mexico abolished slavery in 1829 by orders of the pardo president Vicente Guerrero and thanks to him the undergound railway wich was an escape route for ex slaves some of them fled to Mexico because it was closer to freedom and now thanks to that Mexico has now an indigenous afro mexican colony of 2,5 million people wich makes a 2% of the current population in Mexico.

They see black people as a problem so they got rid of them. It was not just the War for Independence that caused decline in black males,it was War with Paraguay that caused most damage. I watched Documentaries of that War and conscription of blacks was disproportional to their overall numbers,many were sent without proper training and send to frontlines with no chance of survival.So that was pretty much a death sentence,after that War the black males had sharply dropped. Then you add deliberate boost in European immigration and then the plague which blacks were affected most as they had been pushed into an area rife with the disease ,so they die out. Then add to the fact that when Copa America 1916 was held in Argentina,all their football players were white,while neighbouring Uruguay had black players in their team which the Argentine press wrote racist remarks calling them monkeys.It was so many factors that led to blacks being erased,some deliberate and some coincidental.

Yes the slave trade actually started when about fifty men with their friends sailors dropped for reasons we're coming back to get you back , but lasting for years when they return back for them the black ⚫️ people send there have already settled and they are not going back ,that's made that slave trade bigger because the Argentina farmer's like it and were demanding for more that's how the slave trade started, I don't know much about the Arab they doing it before I think 😉

I visited Brazil and Argentina back in 2010. There is a stark difference between the two countries for sure. More Eurocentric in Argentina and Brazil has way more diversity. While in Buenos Aires, my tour group (all Black) was out walking and we ran across a young Black man selling tickets to the Tango shows, when I say he was so happy to see another Black person's face, that's an understatement. Also, on that same trip we took a ride out to an estancia to see Argentinian cowboy culture. Why in the gift shop at the estancia did they have a poster of a man in blackface??? In the middle of nowhere! It was surreal.

That young black man that sold you tickets for the Tango was most likely a senegalese or nigerian guy who escaped from his country less than 10 years ago. That means that you hardly find a black kid born in here.

You need to understand something… in latín america the race “issue” represent like 2% of the problems, nobody cares if a person is doing blackface or not, the people in argentina, colombia or Venezuela for example call black people “negro” but in a good way (most cases)

There are 'black' Argentine football players, but you can't tell by their skin color. A white or black skin color says little about your ethnicity and origin. It takes more than that to know where the ancestors of those footballers came from. Only genealogy and DNA testing can find out the truth

I think there was a very small black population during the colonial period, Argentina did not have these large cotton crops, nor gold which at the time required a large workforce of African slaves. Then there was a huge wave of European immigrants who populated Argentina and the very few blacks were "absorbed" by the interbreeding with the whites the Amerindians that the black features were erased. The darkest Argentinians have olive skin like the player Juan Veron or Carlos Tevez.

By the 1850's, Argentina's population was around 1.000.000 people (very scarce). In the follow decades, due to the systematic European immigration waves (that were originally planned to be English, but ended up to be mostly Italian and Spanish), population increased significantly. In 1895 we were 4.000.000, and in 1914 almost 8.000.000. That's why the majority of white Argentinians we are not even descendants of the orginial "Criollos", but of the Italian and Spanish immigrants of the second half of the XIX century and the early XX century.
