That's generally why you invest in a lottery system to simulate that. More successful dinosaurs will get more tickets and thus chances to reproduce, but even the dumbest ones might have a chance to reproduce. This way, it gets heavily weighted towards the best of the generation, but evolution doesn't know if maybe that dumb one had a trait which combined with something else could have improved all of them.

It would be amazing if you could create a simple tutorial to create a neural network, like you said it is pretty terrible finding materials on NEAT, and reading that original paper is just awful. Additionally, of the resources that are easily available (and free), I have found that most of them give an overview of what neural networks are and what they do, but they rarely go into code, so if you are willing to do a simple tutorial on that that would be AMAZING (and probably fairly popular as well). Good luck!
@toshb13846 жыл бұрын
andrewroc30 100% agree. So many theory-centered neural network videos, so little code. CodeBullet's github is very good, however.

A sentient being creates a simulation on computer hardware created by other sentient beings. The parameters of this simulation, the physics of the universe, are devised and then tuned by the creator of the simulation. The simulation is seeded with a population of creatures that up until then had not existed. Natural selection commences, based on the rules given by the sentient creator of the simulation, with the hope that the results will please the creator of the simulation. The sentient being that created the simulation thinks that this somehow disproves Creationism, and also is seemingly unaware that his very actions could be used to argue the opposite. Another sentient being with a somewhat nuanced view of this subject attempts to point this out in the KZfaq comment section. lol anyway, I love your videos. I look forward to seeing the things you have made. It is clear that you have put a lot of work into your creations :)

Nice, simple explanation. I'd just like to point out that "fitness" in evolutionary language isn't really about how well-suited an organism is to its environment or how good it is at surviving. Technically speaking, fitness is just how many offspring you can get into the next generation (and of course, if you're well-adapted to your environment and you're good at surviving, that's going to increase the number of offspring you will have, so that's going to lead to increased fitness).
@flamebeard103396 жыл бұрын
you know CB, if you had a long term project with NEAT that would be cool (like multi episode) I always thought it would be really awesome to play a PvE type game (dungeon crawler type i guess) were as you level up and advance. not only do the enemies get more life and attack ... but also their brains evolve to your playstyle and try to kill you better. if you need an extra coder (processing java right?) I have some free time over this summer and I would be glad to help. keep it up.
