Astralis has been dominating CSGO for years, always known for having the most fundamentally sound CS. However recently in their losses it seems to be all they are going to.

This video felt a little different to create. Taking a look at a teams overall approach across multiple maps, not just analysing a single map or stratergy. Let me know what you guys think compared to my "regular" content.

this was hard to watch. good concept for a video but gambit had better fundamentals. every single member of astralis took a bad duel and got punished for it. none of them had positional advantage, yet they peeked. peeking with teammates isn’t enough when there is a player to hold each angle. they played passive and didn’t flash on the repeek despite having flashes. when aim is at the highest level you need advantage on a duel.

Had a thought. It'd be really awesome if you listed the demos used in the description. I sometimes see a nade line-up or setup I think is cool and want to take into my own team, so easily being able to find the demo would be aces. Doesn't have to be in order or anything, just when and at what tournament.

@@shallter455 Definitely a lot of firepower lost from the departure of dev1ce, but they did pretty well considering that in IEM Cologne. If zonic leaves, it might be the end of Astralis, but that's pretty unlikely at this point since gla1ve has renewed his contract. Bubzkji is a bit of an underperformer and is not a suitable stand-in for dev1ce going forward so it's a bit of a toss up. If it were just G2 and maybe FaZe, I'd say Astralis have a solid chance at the upcoming major. With Na'Vi in the works, however, gla1ve and Xyp9x have to really pull out the magic tricks if they have want to even have a chance though.

Video idea: Compare Astralis today with Astralis at DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, might be opinion not based off facts because I haven't looked into the games that deeply but I think they were at their peak that tournament, pretty sure that was the tournament they started using nade stacks etc, to me it feels like they got lazy because many top teams were unstable the next year or two allowing them to dominate while gradually getting worse and worse, while still being top 1 because they were far ahead of anyone else.

The main problem for astralis is their individual skills as device and dupreeh are the only ones putting up the numbers so far this year. The rest of the team are just deadweights. gla1ve and xyp took breaks for too long until they forget how to aim and shoot while Magisk couldn’t find his 2018/19 form after returning to his original role as he had to igl when gla1ve took his break. Last but not least, Bubzkji should just leave astralis for the sake of his career.

Ngl I started watching Esport matches back when I was around Silver 4 and my peak hype was when fnatic won most majors and fnatic, nip and ldlc were on top. I pretty much stopped paying attention when sk gaming took over. I really really loved fnatics playstile back then. Aggressive. Unpredictable. And sometimes so crazy and risky but yet it worked. That was special. Nowadays it's mostly the same routine stuff. Also I feel like pros make way more mistakes. 80% of what I see in pro matches (except coordinated executes :D) could literally be me (now I'm at 5k+ hours) in a good MM or faceit match of mine. I feel like especially Astralis misses a lot of "easy" kills. They fail sprays, peek weird, etc.

I don't think that the aim is worse. I just think it's not that easy anymore to do insane 4-5K rounds because the teams are way better with trades, nades and not peeking silly. The sick gambit 3k you saw in the video is one of the very rare examples where you see players peek alone. Just look hat the first A hit on overpass you see in the video. Just how Astralis is peeking at the exact perfect moments. This is basic stuff they do not crazy strats and yet it fascinates me. Just look on the plays from back in the days where you think someone had crisp aim and ask yourself if that play maybe only was possible because of bad enemies. It also depends on the team you watch for crisp aim. Astralis problem atm is in my opinion that they don't have the aim for top 5 CS. But if you look at Simple, Zywoo, Shiro, Cadian to just name the famous examples you'll see good aim. If you think modern CS is "boring" then thats because you don't look into the details. I mean CS is a pretty old Game right now so they have established some rules right now. I mean football is not boring because they always play with 4 defenders and chess is not boring because you always start with e5. You have to look at the small things, at the strats and the reactions of the teams. That's why I follow this channel, because I like how the Creator shows us the small details that teams use to get advanteges. Sometimes only one flash at the perfect moment can make the difference. Look at the double nadenat popdog on train he talked us through in the last video. If you dont like tactical stuff then I think Cs is just not your game. You could watch Valorant where crazy stuff happens on the server because everything is new and nobody knows what he is doing. You might even see crazy frag movies in that game again. And in 4-5 years, when you'll say again that everything became boring I'll come over to watch good tactical shooter gameplay :D

@@herrsteinpilz9823 Yeah especially when it comes to players playing off of each other. I feel like fnatic back then were one of the handful of teams effectively trading every single fight they took. Nowadays every top 20 team does this every single time.

The online era of CS is not showing the true skill and mentality to keep your composure and perform. Remember when Astralis skipped all the T2 and some T1 tournaments in 2019 letting TL getting the #1 spot? When they went in the majors, they 2-0'd everybody and 3-0'd in all the finals including TL. They ended 2019 as #1 and ended 2020 as #1 again despite online CS. Astralis is yet to drop a map in a major since 2018. When the LAN comes up again all the online top teams will fail trust me. It's easy to sit home and play very comfortably and perform. Astralis live off of playing on the big stages where hundred of thousands watch and the nerves needs to be calmed down. I don't think the CIS teams will be able to keep their form on LAN. Just watch the T1 teams as TL, Navi, Vitality, Astralis etc. fails big time in online.
