Some things you forgot to factor in. The game takes place in October meaning it's in the fall time meaning it gets dark out earlier, usually around 6PM and the sun comes up at 7AM. Also it's raining the whole time meaning clouds. So it could still be dark out when it's AM because it's raining.

If that random 4 hour timeskip didn’t happen, and if <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="69">1:09</a> wasn’t such a frequent time the clock went back to, I would believe this was all done in 9 hours by this Batman

I’m just saying, I think it would be really cool. If once you complete the main story the background changed to the sunrise background we briefly saw when we played as Commissioner Gordon. Not only would it help show the passage of time but thematically it would mean that with Batman’s identity revealed this is a new dawning era for Gotham City as scarecrows heinous plan has been foiled. After all “The night is always darkest before the Dawn.”

In real time, its possible to do the main story within 6 hours without skipping anything. And if we go with this clock telling the time, it makes everything even more impossible.

Although I love that, they bother to add a line of dialogue to justify doing the mission later, I think it would’ve been even cooler if they completely changed the dialogue and hush no that you are Batman from the get-go

I did a full non stop play-through of Knight on NG+ literally the night you posted this and it took me Exactly 11 Hours And 45 Minutes All side missions and main missions as I didn’t need to do all the riddler trophies because I 120% the main game I started at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="300">5:00</a>PM and Finished at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="285">4:45</a>AM Established by the fact in late October it gets dark around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="270">4:30</a> PM Till around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="420">7:00</a>AM so I basically experienced knight in the most accurate way possible but this is still a cool analysis on how long it could take

Since the clock isn't changing in real time and instead is manually set after certain Story Missions, I think the weird times aren't the result of a glitch but more an oversight by the developers. Like someone forgot to properly set the time for certain time slots. The weird jump from 9pm to 1am at the beginning feels like the developers changed their minds on what time the game should start but then missed a few timeslots. IDK, it depends on how this is actually handled like if there's a text file for what time the clocks should set to, or if the clocks use multiple animation files or something. What I do know is that 9pm to 5am or 6am makes way more sense than 1am to 10am or 11am because of how dark it is outside. I can absolutely believe Batman did everything within 9 or so hours but the sky is dark the entire game so it can't be 10 in the morning by the end of it.

Actually Batman does have set hours he goes on patrol. In year one Gordon states that Batman is typically spotted between 12 and 4 am. So that means Batman did have a late start to Arkham Knight.

Since the game is set during halloween which is usually when the winter starts in New york. The sunsets at around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1080">18:00</a> and sunrises around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="480">8:00</a> So batman has basically got more than 12 hours to complete the entire night which is plausible.

I get batman mainly works at night but I feel like implementing a day/night cycle in a batman game would still make sense. Like batman still goes out during the day he doesn't only work at night

the wierd thing is that yes the sky may be dark all the game exept for one part. the gordon flashback. when you play as jim gordon in the flashback at ace chemicals the sky is actually bright and sunny which is wierd if the game takes place between 1-10 am therefore it will make more sense for the game to happen between 9 pm when the sky starts being darker and 6 am when the sky only starts being bright tho sure the sky isnt bright in the main game but it is gotham so i guess it gets sunny later the usual

I’ve always believed that each Arkham Games, should have begun in the late afternoon and ended at dawn, and it could have looked something like this: Arkham Origins: In the intro it should have been Batman flying to Blackgate in the Late Afternoon, and after returning to the Batcave and living to be introduce to the open world it would be Nighttime. After beating the living shit out of the Joker, in the epilogue would be at dawn, living the after story content to take place the night after. Arkham Asylum: It should have simply started in the late afternoon, and once after coming out to the ledge overlooking Arkham Island it would be nighttime and would have remained like that till the end of the game. Arkham City: The Protest should have taken place in Mid Day, and after beating up Penguin’s goons and suiting up, should have taken place in the Late Afternoon, after coming out the Court House after rescuing Catwoman it would be Nighttime until the epilogue, when Batman was caring Joker’s Dead Body out of the Monarch Theater, taking place at dawn. Arkham Knight: Should have started in the Late Afternoon until Batman’s suit up into the v8.03 Batsuit, that would become Nighttime, and would remain like that until the Nightfall Protocol, when Bruce removes his Cowl and destroying the Bat Signal, symbolizing that Batman’s Eternal Battle is finally at a end. That’s how I believe the time lapse of this games should have been. 😉

No, no what we should be talking about is how Batman was able to do everything in Arkham City (not counting side Missions) which takes place about 14 hours in one night in July. Hugo Strange constantly tells us that protocol 10 will commence in 10 hours, in America, in July when night time is about eight hours long. it’s about two hours before the first announcement of protocol 10 and then it’s about another hour after Batman stops protocol 10 when he takes on Clayface, so that’s 14 hours a night, which even if it wasn’t July is not possible because December nights are only about 10 hours long. And then you’ve got to account for all of the side missions that Batman does during Arkham City which is going to take another few hours to do everything, like how long was he captured by Mad Hatter? How long was he knocked out by Joker? How long was he doing Ra’s challenges? Everything in Arkham Asylum, I can let slide because I can see that being over the events of about six hours but Arkham City I just don’t see it. And for the love of God, I am not going to go on about how the Joker was able to build an amusement park in a hotel in a couple of hours on Christmas Eve.

Personally, inconsistency in the clock I think can be explained away with Batman’s hallucinations. Not all of them are cartoonish Jokers, some are Oracle killing herself.

I know this isn't on topic, but imagine how cool it would be if post game the sun came up. Like if instead of Knightfall Bruce decided to continue as Batman regardless of everything and the game ends with him watching the sunrise on Gotham and from then on if you free roam it's bright out.

Side missions are cannon across the series so those most of those larger gaps in time must be Batman doing side missions, also dlc are cannon too, so we can assume he was busy with those too.

The average speedrun time for a glitchless 100% playthrough of Arkham Knight is 8 hours, with an extra hour tacked on for Seasons of Infamy. Is a fact that Year One does give him an initial shift given Bruce is just starting as Batman. Which is 12 to 4 am. A pretty reasonable time relatively for the shift of a nightly vigilante prowling rooftops and spreading fear while still waking up and getting some bit of rest for a typical daily existence of a billionaire. With some inevitable days and weeks of stepping over that clock for when things get really bad like the "one night" scenarios of the Arkham series.

Just beat Arkham knight for the first time just now 😀 I got the Arkham collection on PSN on sale for $5.99 back in April and Origins on PS3 for a cheap price as well as getting asylum and city on PS3. Now I just gotta beat Deathstroke and Riddler to enter the nightfall protocol 😆 and after beating every game I can confirm that I love Arkham 😊

I kinda wish that as time progresses with each mission, the skybox changes slowly turning to morning. And so when the game finally ends in Knightfall Protocol, it's sunrise. All The Batman style. Unless light works differently in Gotham's side of America where 5 is still pretty dark, while here in the Philippines 5 is already a pretty bright morning.

His first 3-4 hours from sunset are probably prep-work which would make his actual work easier. Canonically there wouldn't be as many henchman as the game (since they're there for the gameplay sake) and there wouldn't be these ridiculous puzzles. Plus the side missions and side-villains would be quick work for him.

I’d love to see a glitch-less 100% speed run of the game just to see how long it would take honestly. But I’m not sure anyones crazy enough to try that yet. Maybe someday.

I actually put this to the test with all the arkham games. Basically from sunset to sunrise is when he operates. Asylum took place in the summer so shorter nights, but you can do it in like 6-8 hrs. Origins and city take place in winter so longer nights and I managed to do everything in origins with about 10 mins to sunrise, and city with 45 mins to sunrise. Knight you literally have 13 hrs 25 mins from sunset to sunrise. I tried to do everything in that time frame, and failed. Unless you comeplete every encounter stealth/combat in less than 2 mins, and know exactly where every riddler trophy is that you can access at the different points, I just can't see it happening. Even adding an extra hrs or two b/c it's storming out and can extend the darkness, it's still iffy. Was thinking of doing another attempt. Or someone else can.

Make a video talking about the canon visuals of characters. Like, what is the real face of Bruce Wayne, Origins, City, Knight, or Suicide Squad? And Killer Croc? Catwoman? Harley Quinn? Why did Azrael change his armour? And Alfred....

I hate SSKTJL as much as the next guy, but let's remember Harley is a DC human. Bruce is a DC human and survives FALLING FROM THE MOON, and also face-tanks an explosion I think in his normal possibly spandex suit or whatever. No armor. Like DC humans with NO POWERS are goddamn crazy. They aren't just "peak human" they're like 3x peak. Harley being able to lift an armored Bruce might only be like 200lbs or even less. I wouldn't be surprised if he's like a lean but shredded 180 or something. His armor probably isn't even 100lbs. He has to wear it and move in it with no major loss of movement. In fact, the lore reason for his Fear Multi-Takedowns in AK is his improved armor finally doesn't hamper his movements so much, right? So I wouldn't be surprised if it's 50lbs tops. But let's just say he's 300lbs. That is BEYOND REASONABLE for Harley to move. Let's even double all my max assumptions for Bruce's weight which puts HIM naked at 400lbs and gives him 200lbs of armor, which is INSANE with that movement speed... so 600lbs tops? Just so we're clear, I just looked up the world record women's deadlift and it's 1,600lbs. So like, are we really saying Harley can't move less than half of that?
