A couple years ago I bought a 48 inch (122cm) UHD TV that can do 4:4:4 color to use as my computer monitor. Getting it adapted and configured was a world of trial and error, and there are still annoyances due to its TV heart, but within minutes of getting it working I knew I would never go back. I'm looking at it now. No, it's not "too big". The vast majority of computer monitors are too small.

I'd buy a 55 inch monitor if they made it and it could do split screen. I'd love to have 4x 27inch displays in one frame.

A couple things people don't realize about using large screens for monitors. Games: Immersion is next level when playing games. You can even run custom resolutions and windowed modes. I will never play games on monitors under 40 inches again, at any resolution or refresh rate. Desktop: place things in the center of the screen if the far corners bother you. mount the monitor on the wall behind the desk ideally. Movies: big screens double as a good sized tv so you only need one screen. if you are too close to it sitting at the desk then run a windowed movie. I find it funny that people complain about the size, but then run widescreens or multi-monitors and stacked screens which is even worse. When hdmi 2.1 and 120hz become standard, small monitors should be a thing of the past for general enthusiasts.

I'm happy I found your channel, bud. Really cool to see some authenticity and spontaneous throughout the video. Most channels reviewing this kind of stuff just feels robotic and scripted that only goes through the specs, color bleeds, sRGB percentages and what not, instead of going through the actual experience of having such monitors. Thank you, great stuff.

Thanks for the review. I really feel that it is silly when people are using 2-3 monitors commonly to freak out about the size of this. It is a neat product for those of us who like split screen when gaming or browsing but also wanna sit back and watch television or movies later on. It's a bit of a niche device but I think it's one that was really needed.

Agree. I use it and have a Mac and a Win10 system hooked to it, as well as an Apple TV. I can use twin Mac screens, a Win10 screen and still have a corner available to watch a little baseball.

Regarding neck movement - most IT/Developers I see have 2 or 3 monitors and organize their screens. They've been moving their necks for years, so I don' t think that's an issue for productivity. For movies/games - where you're better of sitting farther back and visually taking in the 'big picture' - I can see the neck movement not being ideal.

I bought a 35" ultrawide 1440p a month ago also keeping my 24" 1080p old monitor as a dual monitor, Really enjoying it but have only just realised a 43" 4k could've been a better choice since I would still get all the spaces for work, but also can have a giant full screen for 4k videos.

To me, this Monitor's strong side is infact it's size. 43 inches aren't as big as it might sound to some. Yes, it's big, but still, i realized, this option gives me 4K resolution, while being a size to actually look at. I am using my PC for streaming and recording videos. And since i don't want to look away from the camera in fron of me too much, while taking care of things, two 24 inch displays side by side are simply too big. So the only thing usable to me would be one display on top of the other one. But since that makes me look up anyways, i was asking myself exactly the same thing. "How big is too big?" I changed this question to a healthy "How big is small enough?" - And i ended up with 43 inches for the biggest display possible. Its like two displays at 21.5 inches side by side, with a second row on top. Its big. Big enough to actually use the resolution from where I'm sitting. But it's also small ~ small enough, fit the real estate of 2x2 1080p displays in front of me. And I can use this in 2x2 PBP mode, which is a big strong side, as I can run for example a game full screen mode and still have several desktop apps open and visible, like i would on multiple actual displays. I am quite sure this display will fit my needs and I am seriously thinking about getting it.

I have three monitors. 2-32 inch AOC 4k's and 1 43 inch Acer 4k. Running a 1070TI video card and it works perfectly. I love this set up..... YMMV of course.

If you already get used to that size (let's say 42" or 50") and always looking at it from everyday viewing or use. It will feel smaller and wanted a more bigger screen. At first you get excited to get a 42" because it is your first time owning a big screen but after a year that 42" will get smaller and wanted to get a 50".

I tested one 40" display and it was horrible. The major issue was having to move the neck, really. When moving the eyes is not enough to reach the edges. Having a setup with +8 windows, fast tabing and moving around. The neck "hurts" and the productivity is lowered. If the user is a "power user" amassing a tone of hotkeys to do things fast, having to refocus attention on another window on a big screen, to me was counterproductive. But is just my opinion. I prefer working with 24", considering 27" (no more). For anyone wishing something that big: try to test one for a week first.

yeah great Video and a to monitor , but bigger can get to big i guess ,actually i was considering buying a 43 Inch monitor from Philips after i saw this beast at a friends house but then i started to do some math , first my desk is not that deep and then there is the PPI count , with 32 Inch ( what i currently own ) it is 137 ppi however a 43 Inch Monitor will end up having "only" . 102 PPI and that is even less than my 2011 Imac which has 109 .. what is your experience do you experience a loss in sharpness ? or do you sit away just far enough ( and if so what is the distance between you and your monitor ) nevertheless an interesting video !

Thank you for your introduction to this monitor. I bought this monitor and use it in Windows 10 environment. This is suppose to have 60Hz rating, right? However, after trying a couple cables (both , HDMI v2.0 and v1.4) within Windows the only frequency setting options I get are 29Hz and 30Hz. It is suppose to be up to 60Hz. Why do I get a maximum of only 30Hz? If you have some knowledge you can cue me into, I will surely appreciate the insight. Thank you.
@ThisIsE
@ThisIsE 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry, I've always used the monitor at 60Hz. Only two of the HDMI ports on the back support 60Hz tho. Make sure you have connected it to the right ports. Cables also matter. If you still have trouble, try connecting a different device that can output 60Hz to make sure it's not your windows machine.

Thanks for that quick response. I was about to place it on sale via Yahoo! Japan auctions but thought best I research further via KZfaq, Amazon purchasers, etc. I'm aware of 1 & 2 being HDMI 1.4 and 3 & 4 (furthest from power plug) being HDMI 2.0. I also recently purchased HDMI cables via Amazon Japan ( goo.gl/pnh588 Sorry Japanese only) which specifically has in the description support for 4K/60Hz. My main and only machine is Intel's Hades Canyon, just released this year which supports (I think) 60Hz for sure. Anyway, I will troubleshoot further. I read one Japanese reviewer stating that it works with the mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort. So I will give that a try. Thanks again.

And the ability to have 4x1920x1080 screens shown on one of this monitors which can be connected to 4 computer/output devices, including seemless mouse and keyboard switching when i move the mouse in the range of one displayed output. Anybody know the input lag for this screen? I plan on buying the Xbox One X, this monitor, and mainly using the Xbox One X with this monitor.

I'm aware this is an old video but, how deep is the desk you used for this monitor? And what desk size would you recommend?
@ThisIsE

I ended up using it on the wall. Standard tabletops where not deep enough for my eyes.

Hi Iskren, Would you recommend a 43" 4K monitor with a simple stand or a 32" 4K monitor with Height Adjustable Stand with pivot for desktop use? Desk depth is 15-20 inches. Primary use is for coding and also watching movies/shows.

it is possible to split screen (to 2/3/4) through only one laptop ?
@ThisIsE
@ThisIsE 7 жыл бұрын
+FELiYCORE only if you can do it on a software level. Otherwise it’s a matter of how many devices you have connected to it.

No hi res driver for macs. You need to use a thrum party solution like ResX and it's rubbish. I sent my 43 inch LG monitor back.

meh! i will choose a dual monitor anyday,not only 2 monitors give more more flexibilty in productivity,it gives you option to go with different monitors like 144hz for gaming and a 4k ips panel for colour accuracy productivity,and another thing that thing will be way too heavy for free adjustable monitor arms anyways

What are you thoughts on the black quality of this monitor? Given that is a IPS panel.
@ThisIsE
@ThisIsE 7 жыл бұрын
Deep (not OLED) but deep blacks. Sitting next to an LG 5k Apple panel, I can't seem to make a difference. Hopefully this helps Elias.
