I watched every game of Levallois this year as I live there and I was so impressed of the progression of Bilal this year. First, I feel like he grew up during the year and as he is one of the youngest player of the draft and he might still continue to grow. To me Coulibaly deserves to be a first round pick for one thing is that he can be an elite defender in NBA. He is so involve in defense and has so active hand that in any team he could be useful to reduce the impact of the best player in the other team and he is so good at covering the 3pts line. His involvement in defense shows his capacity to be serious and his discipline and just for that he will be better than Sekou that never had the reputation to have a good mindset (but the Comsport Agency is one of the best in the league to promote his players when you see the contract of Gobert, Batum, Mahinmi, Fournier and Wemby too, you understand their talent) To come back to Bilal, for sure his mechanic of shot needs improvement as it is slow and not efficient when it is about creating his own shot. But what makes him interesting is his off ball game and his game in transition and in French League, it is way harder to slash because of the rules. And still he reaches to have some 10pts games without taking and having much responsibility in attack. To me, his ceiling would be Andrew Wiggins with less explosivity or a Shawn Marion. And his floor could be a MKG.

His lack of involvement is what an 18 year-old does when is playing with and against much older men. They almost always tend to defer. It might take a gm with guts to take him early, meaning Orlando or OKC . Imagine all of the gms who passed on Giannis perhaps for the reasons.

This is a move a team makes when they want to tank for 2 straight years. If it works, they get 2 years of development for high talent on a rookie deal, coupled with the high draft picks from them being a bad team. If it doesn't, you gambled on a mid lottery pick and not a bad contract like previous administrations. At a minimum, it sounds like he can be a defensive sub who can cover mobile bigs and be a strong defensive match up for the wiz. But the fact that he shows growth, shows that he's willing to work. Finally excited to be a Wiz fan again.

French prospects take time to develop. Bilal Coulibaly reminds me of Nicholas Batum one day and Frank Ntilikina the next.

Someone gets it. It's good to see I'm not the only Raptors fan obsessing over these Bilal videos.

Just to give perspective to ppl who wouldnt know him, he joined the rotation during this season (he was playing in youth leagues before that) and got better each months. He is extremely raw but has a lot of tools that could make him the steal of this draft IF he gets the right trainers and environment.

Do we have any recent measurements of him? (I've heard he's grown an inch). Just remember, the Wiz just hired two guys from the tree of Presti. Also, any thoughts on how comfortable would he be living in America.
