You actually do raise a good point about MJ's article not being 100% warranted. A lot of weird things happened in New York before Peter got the symbiote. But Lowenthal took a page out of Homelander's book when he said, "I'm the hero, not you." that was cold.

I feel like it can be warranted from the lizard chase scene on the east river or where it was because dude was low-key kinda tweaking there and then if you do side content it makes a lot of sense as well cause dude is way more violent and someone made a good point about the lizard chase in the city dude was causing alot of city damage and when he normally foes that he tries to negate damage but this time he just let it roll on and people were saying no one died but im sure thousands of people got hurt

The thing about the Peter article is that in the last few games Spider-Man is always actively trying to help the general public immediately afterwards, offering to help shelter people, rescuing people, etc. After he gets the suit he doesn't do it at all, and during the chase sequences he doesn't try and help out people or stop the chaos, he just lets it run. Like during the helicopter chase he actively stops the helicopter, and stops the thing that was rolling. In the Lizard chase he stops pretty much 0 Hunter trucks from exploding, he never attempted to try and save a single person when there definitely was somebody who needed to be saved, etc.

@@Akain777 For that I just have the Advanced 2.0 Suit as my default so that when I Surge I transform into the Anti-Venom suit. Even though it does instantly change your abilities to symbiote abilities it doesn't default to the Venom Bomb and Venom Twister moves.

Black Suit made him just slightly more Aggressive and was Accurate looking to the Comics Original Black Suit and we al Loved it But the Symbiote Suit, after the whole Meteorite and "Memory coming back" moment? That was when he looked like a Menace and was getting corrupted by the Insomniac Verse's Venom Symbiote, since here apparently Venom is Evil Recall that Originally Vrnom wanted to Help and learn from Peter and only became Evil after Peter rejected it and Eddie's Hate fueled it

I think the point of the whole article was that it was exactly what J Jonah would want. MJ is well aware of the efforts Peter takes towards both saving the city, stomping criminals, and trying to make time for people. But as we could see with his Scream boss fight, she has resentment towards the failing situation he's put her in. He lost his just gained teacher joh to go and fight Sandman, which let's be honest was clearly a job Miles would've been able to handle cuz he could've crystalized Marko entirely. Then we're shown that MJ's got herself in a house where the mortgage is missing payments. Earlier during the ferris wheel scene we're shown an article that some new guy made which was standard Spider-Man slander that JJ loves. So MJ making that article was both to appease JJ, and show her anger towards Peter. And to be fair her anger ain't unwarranted Bros holding off on giving the suit to Harry even though he's going to die without it, his excuse being. "It makes me a better Spider-Man" nevermind how she had to escape from Peter while also watching him beat these hunters into comas. And btw it's worth mentioning for the crane Insomniac scene, this guy was webbing everything being lost away to buildings. So yeah he was causing destruction, but he's making sure no further damage would be cuased. He pinned the generator to the side of a skyscraper, webbed up the crane completely so it wouldn't break further. And also stopped the helicopter and it's snapped tail from breaking things further. Menace Lowenthal just let everything smash around. No webs or nothing. He'd dodge a truck just to let it crash into a building, he allowed one of them to just crash around like dead weight as the lizard carried it up a building.

The problem is this entirely deconstructs the character. I mean imagine putting everyone’s needs before your own, so much so your own personal life is constantly sabotaged and still maintaining a positive attitude. You’d hold a few grudges. You’re literally losing your job to save people’s lives risking your life in the process and your girlfriend is bitching about the mortgage. Mj secretly despising him is kind of messed up, she knows the pain being Spider-Man has caused him yet can only think about how it’s affecting her. The biggest problem I have is that afterwards he has to constantly apologize, like bitch you’d all be in the fucking grave seven times over if it hadn’t been for Spider-Man give him a break when an alien takes over his body. Then Peter retiring was like pouring salt on a rotting wound. He’s literally prime of his life age and he’s retiring? The fuck logic is this? The Mj of the comics would crucify Peter for doing that.

@@batman6855 I'd retire as Spider-Man too this man's losses have been hefty. Harry's back in a coma, Aunt May's been long gone, His mentor Otto who's been helping this guy since his college days has completely lost himself and is the reason his Aunt is dead in the first place. He's had to watch his friend Yuri devolve into the red hood pretty much. So after all this alien invasion stuff, I see no reason why he'd want to still be Spider-Man consistently. We can't consider Mary Jane for being selfish in wanting to actually have a livelihood. Bring Spider-Man isn't going to run any bills and if you're dating this guy you either run the risk of dying, or having to watch him die. Which she literally did, before they met Harry again in SM2 Peter has no job because he just got himself fired from it, and has a failing mortgage where we see that MJ is the one who's living in his house. Because he makes no money she has to make sure she herself is supporting them. Regardless of how noble the job of Spider-Man is, that doesn't mean anyone should be put in a situation like that where they're expected to just deal with someone who makes the choice everyday to go out and fight crime, big or small. It could be Sandman tearing the city apart, or simply some crooks doing a bank robbery. Peter will go whether he knows what it is or not. You can't have a relationship with that it's not easy Peter himself literally admits this to MJ while he's fucking dying during the mission where he first gets the black suit. "I was never there, I'm so sorry." He himself obviously understands he's causing issues to their relationship by doing this. It's not a deconstruction of the character when it's a completely fair thing to happen in a situation. If you were dating, or married to someone who's a superhero. Are you absolutely positive you'll stay with them based on the merit that "They save people everyday" even though they're never home with you, and depending on financial circumstances. You'll have to be the only one to support them

Miles Morales game starts out with Rhino doing all that and Peter leaves after telling Miles he's gonna be on his own dealing with hopefully less than that, maybe worse, who knows, while his mentor is gone. Miles is not even 18 yet. The whole great responsibility line really went out the window there. But, that's beside the point. They emphasize all this stuff about Peter's way of fighting and how scary it is, and I honestly don't feel like any of it is really earned. He got the job done. And, with what abuse humans can take in this world, he probably didn't kill anyone.

I came back to levy some insight from ky first playthrough, in phase 2 of miles vs peter he also goes out to have this. "All i wanted was to save everyone. Mj, may, NOW THE CITY THINKS THAT I'M THE PROBLEM. *You think I'm the problem.* BUT I'M NOT ANYMORE. *I'm the solution.*" Bro i put my controller down, he had me teared up, I don't wanna fight Peter when he's like this. 😭

I'm genuinely so glad I'm not the only one with the problem with the writing for some of the conflict in this game. Kraven and Mr Negative, written well. Beyond that... there's a lot of stuff I can't say feels as earned as the game's story wants to make it feel. And, a lot that isn't explored that I wish was. And, a lot that is used as reasoning that wouldn't check out in the most baseline of soap operas cause even people in those would think to lay these sorts of contexts on thick and heavy as soon as they got the chance. And, what makes it stand out all the more is how phenomenally Insomniac wrote the first game as a Spider-Man game. Here, the writing is great, but it's not greater... sorry, had to... but, really, you give Dock Ock all the writing in the world so we fully understand him in one game and set up the sinister six in a way that makes their build-up being what it was understandable, and you don't give Harry that kind of attention? You just throw in some flashbacks, a literal day in the park, and call it a day on that?

For one, Peter got caught like that because he didn’t know Kraven’s capabilities and how much of a menace he is, he beat Peter in the Comics Aswell and Peter would’ve run the hands with Kraven if he was pissed off

13:14, The worst thing Peter did before the article was released was not let Miles help him in the sewers with the Lizard, projecting his own failures onto Miles, and prolonging Lizard’s rampage. But the public doesn’t know that detail and Peter isn’t shown exhibiting unhinged behavior to regular civilians to warrant the article, at least not on screen.
