Okay, addressing a few things, 1) lore stuff I got wrong, Celica wasn't one of the six heroes. It was a valkenhayn, oops. The izayoi wasn't used to kill civilians it was used to kill deserters. The rest of the that I've verified with the wiki, so cope, I guess 2). The tone of the video is clearly comedic, so allow me to clarify what my point was. Jin his whole life has been fucked with. Either by yukianesa, terumi, or the world order. And through all of this, he was able to break through and choose to be with people he loves rather than succumb to what the world has in store for him. 3) If you think I have misportrayed Jin as psychotic and evil....that's because he is. Yukianesa only influences him, not controls him. He has never been forced to do the action he committed against tsubaki, ragna, and Noel. Jin is a fucked up guy who largely thought the story has done fucked up things. So if you're one of the people who are trying to say that terumi was the real hero or that Jin did nothing wrong, please reexamine yourself

another thing, Yukianesa was given to him by Saya, and that was when he went berserk at the convent, also the Hakumen had Tsubaki as his secretary not Noel as Hakumen has no memories of Noel

I wouldn't say Jin is psychotic, more of a sociopath. He's a relatively uncaring asshole, but he can sometimes be nice once every blue moon, the sole exception being Ragna. And when you have both the angel and the devil on your shoulders both saying to kill Ragna, then there's only one thing to do, kill Ragna.

being fair, there are only like 4 characters I can think of that fall into cauldrons willingly. Hazama and relius jumped because with izanami dead and terumi being Susano’o, the fuck do they need to be there for? (It’s hinted that hazama lives, I don’t remember if relius does.) Hakumen pulls terumi in one back when he used kazuma as a vessel. And hakumen goes in again willingly at the end of the story, because closure?

@@adhamsalem9121 It's interesting to see how Ragna and Jin both handle their fears and traumas throughout the series. They both start out isolated emotionally and are forced into different roles in the universe. Where Ragna (forced into the role of chaos) uses the Azure Grimore to make himself stronger due to being unable to save those he held dear, but ending up prone to emotional outbursts due to being reminded of the happy life he lost due to his own lack of strength, Jin (forced into the role of a hero) hid his emotions from those he was closest to, hiding trauma from witnessing those close to him die in front of him and hiding his feelings towards Saya and Ragna even deeper, all being amplified by Yukianesa, which tempts Jin to kill those around him as well. They are rivals not just because of them being chaos and order, but because at the start of the series, so many things happened to the both of them that they can't express their emotions in a healthy way.

Both Jin and Hakumen developed immensely throughout the series (although the latter mostly did so behind the scenes), but they still retained their main flaw of wanting to stick to their "perfect hero of justice" façade until the last act of Centralfiction. Which is why I loved so much the moment when they finally decided to drop it and prioritize their loved ones over what was objectively better for the world. Such a beautiful conclusion for such a long character development arc.

So... Jin wants to fight the world so that he can become a war criminal?
@seia2758
@seia2758 Жыл бұрын
@@hollowman9410 Read Spiral Shift for more info. The NOL set up the whole Ikaruga Civil War and Jin didn't even kill any one. His sword was continuously tempting him to kill, but his mind was able to resist it. Plus, Tenjou provoked him to attack and kill her because destiny says so. Jin knew the whole war was nothing but a set up for Terumi to gather souls to power-up Izanami and to test the potential of his Power of Order as a bonus, so he erased Jin's memory to avoid any suspicion. So, Jin did not commit any war crimes, in fact, Ragna was much worse since he raided an NOL base and committed a genocide there - men and women innocent alike were killed without mercy. But then again, the BlazBlue world is already very dark, so these are just minor examples.

My favorite detail about Jin is that he's got three things manipulating his actions at all times; Trauma - his repressed memories still spilling through as his "love" for Ragna and the knowledge that he will one day become a monster Yukianesa: Sword that tells you to kill people for the fun of it Power of Order: Cosmic force that says "kill your brother for the good of the world" So whenever he meets Ragna, it's no surprise that he seems to get a giant hard-on. Every part of him is screaming out that his destiny is to kill his bro and that it's absolutely the right thing to do if he truly loves him. It's why I honestly love Ragna's relationship with Jin, because he knows that Jin is crazy, but he's still his little bro, to the point where he, as you say in this video, gives him advice on how to deal with his psycho sword. The Bloodedge family all really need therapy tho. Very good video! I love hearing an actual breakdown on what makes members of this cast so great.

I never thought Tsubaki was all that innocent anyway. She saw Jin treat Noel -- supposedly one of her best friends -- coldly at best, and like garbage at worst. And she was pretty much cool with it. She also knew Jin went berserk and tried to kill Mai Natsume for apparently no reason...and Tsubaki was still all good with him! Didn't get particularly concerned about this extreme behavior and what it meant about him overall, just worried about him. She ignored a lot of red flags in favor of "omg my childhood friend!"
@seia2758
@seia2758 4 ай бұрын
And Ragna is much better? Dude committed atrocities and mass murdered countless innocent NOL personnels because he wanted to destroy all the cauldrons and destroy all the Saya clones. In Jin's defense, atleast he NEVER killed anyone. In Spiral Shift, it was revealed Jin did not murder anyone in the Ikaruga Civil War either, he did kill Tenjo, but she was provoking him to do it because destiny says so. But in the end, she didn't die because she transferred her soul to Bang's Nox weapon. So... Jin didn't managed to kill anyone in canon, despite his claims of wanting to kill those who stand in his way, he never goes through with it. BlazBlue is a dark crapsack world, but redemption is possible. Ragna and Jin both developed later on the series. Plus the Jin going berserk thingie wasn't even his fault anyway, and Tsubaki and Mai knows this. The reason Jin went berserk is because Mai got a piece of the Azure Grimoire, and Yukianesa (Jin's weapon) recognizes the Azure Grimoire as a fragment of the Black Beast. And since Nox Weapons are designed to kill the Black Beast, Jin was brainwashed by his own sword to kill whoever possesses it, in this case, it was Mai. So, what do you mean tried to kill Mai for no reason? That's the thing that is tragic about Jin, all his life, his actions are being manipulated by forces outside of his control - Terumi erasing his memories, his sword continuously fucking his brain, and the countless traumas he ha endured. Read the Manga and lore first before spreading misinformation buddy.

@@seia2758 You keep dismissing why Ragna destroyed the prior NOL bases & why Ragna doing that was a GOOD THING. Neither character is pure but you're no better than Tsubaki who deems Ragna as the universe's greatest sin when he's just as much of a victim as her beloved brother-boyfriend Jin.
@seia2758
@seia2758 3 ай бұрын
@@AngelKnightZeo713 : I understand the motivations. Ragna destroying NOL bases might be a good thing and he might have good intentions, doesn't mean though that you can kill innocent people. It's kinda like Robin Hood stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor BUT you are still stealing so that doesn't make you truly good. Now I don't know if that's still canon or not, but the point is, both the brothers did questionnable things, but they DID redeem themselves in the end, so I'm satisfied with that.

Jin was jealous of Saya because Ragna paid more attention to her and he hates Noel because she looks the same as her. Same applies to the Murakumo units in one of the CT endings where Nu kills Ragna Jin says something along the lines of "I won’t late you take my brother away from me again" referring to how he saw Saya back in the day. He acts crazy around Ragna because he still wants his attention, the power of order sees Ragna as something he needs to kill in order to have world peace, has trauma surrounding the church event and Yukianesa amplifying those emotions, the mixture of those things is why Jin is crazy in CT-CS.

One of the things that should also be mentioned about his beginnings is this sort of mental stagnation he has from his time growing upthat I've recognized. I think after receiving yukianesa, Jin had gone through so much mental alteration and trauma that you can kinda tell that he never truly got to "grow up" or just mature in a safe or normal way that kids should. Being fed murderous thoughts as an impressionable and emotional child who also ALREADY had trauma from the lab (shown through Ragna as he was INCREDIBLY defensive towards his siblings when first meeting the sister). He'd already been through enough to make him need a sort of consistency/safe space and for him it was his older brother, who had been attempting to protect both him and Saya that entire time. It's only natural for both Jin to latch onto his older brother because of his "role" as his protector. I just think that it was that attachment that caused him to "hate" Saya (although it was in that sort of childish "Why isnt anyone giving me attention like they are to you" way). It was a perfectly reasonable thing for him to believe since he was just a kid and already so emotionally traumatized. But because of him getting yukianesa at around that time, it certainly didn't help with that childish view of his siblings when it started feeding thoughts into head, and when he was told that his brother was the "villain". Jin didn't ever "hate" Saya, at least not in my opinion. It was just that the last experience he had with her and Ragna as a child before believing they were both, in fact, dead was Saya garnering all of the attention of Ragna and the sister because of her frail body. And because he was a child and became traumatized from both of his siblings "dying" in front of him, it makes sense that his mind would block it out and only associate both Saya with "Jealousy and Hatred" and Ragna with "Safety and Affection." But over time it definitely took its toll on his mental state. If he had just let go of the sword, he might have been able to heal... But I recall in Spiral Shift that Jin mentions he keeps Yukianesa as a testimony to the sins that he comitted, and that's why he doesn't just get rid of it. (there's also probably the world's order at play, but that's besides the point). I'm certain that Jin's "bloodlust" that we see in the games for Ragna is simply a mix of the world's order telling him to kill his own brother, and his true feelings that he has. Nothing romantic, he just cares a LOT about his family. Jin is always pretty family oriented, which is why he cared so much for Tsubaki because for the longest time she was the only real family he had. His actions towards Ragna are always very contradictory. If he ever truly wanted Ragna dead, then why would he be begging so much at the end of CF where he tries to keep Ragna alive? There's so much evidence against him actually wanting to kill Ragna that it's insane. At the end of the day Jin strikes me as a character who loves his family more than anything. He was just horribly traumatized and fucked with that his true thoughts and feelings were trapped underneath layers upon layers of his own mental derrangement from said alterations. He loves Saya and Ragna (not in a weird way you fucking weirdos), and probably would have been a pretty sweet kid like we see him be in the academy were it not for all of those horrible events that changed him.

Lost his family,his arm and His lover and was branded a terrorist for stopping the unholy experiments on the cauldrons. Yet the world is always against him. And he still gave everything to the world that took everything from him. Compared to that. Jin was too obssessed with his brother. Even if it was the power of order pushing him. We could say the same for ragna who was constantly fighting off his azure going Berserk and destroying the world. His whole potential was wasted on his quest to kill his brother. And while ragna fought the very strings of fate to not become the monster he was bound to become. Jin embrassed the power of order. And in the end became an Alternate version of Hakumen with a little bit more humanity. I still believe his character development could have been written better. Especialy since the little humanity we saw of him was related to his relationship with tsubaki. The most moraly questionnable character in BB that nobody really sympathized with due to her willing blindness. And the fact she didn't think twice to betray her friends and try to kill them the second izanami fooled her into thinking jin was in danger (without even trying to analyze the situation like the rest of the cast. And also the fact she just got freed from mind control. Like comon you should learn your lesson and stop being fooled). But anyways i respect your POV. Jin is indeed an interesting character but i would have loved to see him develop beyond his care for a detestable character and his obsession with killing his brother.

@@Mitsu852 i can also agree with yer stance, i feel like its suppose to be the irony, Ragna fighting against everything even when the world is against him, Jin having to embrace it due to being pushed into these postitions but he also somehow get to be his own self. im really fascinated by him due to Mori writting him as the "true hero of BB" the way he says it and thats why i say misunderstood (not to excuse his actions or justify them, but recontextualize how he sees it and felt it) one of my gripe is that Jin shouldve really gotten a bigger shift in personnality with CF, in his way of fighting against fate, but im still fine with what i got and he'll still be one of my fav fgc character. that was a good talk, ya brought good points ^^
@seia2758

@@Mitsu852 You're wrong. Both brothers endured equal amounts of trauma but in different situations. Ragna got his arm cut off, but afterwards, he did had a loving sensei and a vampire guiding him along the right path. Jin? No, he had no such luck. He had to learn everything from scratch. He was brainwashed and was left homeless, but was adopted by a rich but very very abusive family. In the end, he had to figure out everything himself. He did have loyal friends, but those are the only positives he had. And Jin already redeemed himself by CF, when he decided that he would kill his brother so that Ragna would not be forgotten (spoilers). And he also defended Noel (for the first f*ckin' time! finally!) from Ragna attempting to strike her. This shows that deep inside, Jin really loves his siblings in his own way. Unfortunately, Ragna decided against Jin killing him because if he did not erase himself from existence instead, the world cannot move forward. So they had one last fight and Jin lost the bet (predictably since Jin had used much of his power fighting Susano'o). So Ragna had to go bye-bye and made everyone forget him.

this is my comment after watching the video; noticed ya changed the title, im allright with that since contrary to the I-No or Terumi videos its less bout why we should care and a depth analysis showing Jin feelings and more a rundown to what he did in BB (and ya didnt even get to CF lmao) but without much hindsight of how Jin felt about all of these (like why his conflict with Ragna and Saya runs more deep and it isnt as childish as it appears), what i mean by that is that its mostly showing Jin as the jerkass he is but less bout the more humane moments he had😅(whether its with Tsubaki or his former classmates) still its a great video and dunno if ya will talk more bout Jin in the future but i sure hope so coz he deserves to have the spotlight (and my point about a Nine video still stands, need my witch mommy video)

Never read the light novels but the games say Jin gets his sword from Saya. While he does get mad every time he sees a girl that looks like Saya even Ragna knows the burning of his orphanage as his first encounter with Teroumi, because he not only saw him but also knew that killing all those people would be something thats to hard for Jin at the time. While Jin is a bit attached to Ragna the real thing that makes him go crazy when Ragna's around is Yukianesa which has a draw back of making the user's emotions go out of control. Jin doesn't really like Noel which in the games he makes really obvious but that's only because of Yukianesa without it he just doesn't much care for her.(not enough to say anything about it) I agree that Jin is crazy but most of that is his weapon's doing warping his emotions to a point where they become disturbing to say the least.

So are we going to go over the fact that Tsubaki herself isn't innocent at all. Anyway, thanks for the video, Jin is a much more complex character that I originally thought( I thought he was just a psycho brocon). It's nice to know that he actually loves Tsubaki, but I still don't get his irrational hatered towards Saya, his own little sister.

He hates Saya because Jin was a crybaby and a needy child, always trying to keep Ragna to himself. He hated Saya because she would steal Ragna from him, even more so when she got sick and Ragna had to focus his attention even more on her. I think it was mostly just bullying her, but with Yukianesa and Terumi, it kinda morphed and become the seething hatred for her we know now. Interestingly, this was either in CT or the Wheel of Future Audio, but Jin was actually highly protective of Nu for a while. I believe he mistook her for Saya. And it wasn't just a brief moment; he spent an extended amount of time with her.

A few things: Wasn’t Celica killed by Terumi while Jin was told by both Terumi and his ice sword to kill Ragna? The Six Heroes included all you mentioned except Celica, that Valkenhein’s spot. And the seventh unmentioned hero being Bloodedge. And the reason Jin jumped into the cauldron thus being Hakumen was not necessarily suicide but to save Ragna from Nu. Also the timeline where Noel is his secretary is the timeline he doesn’t become Hakumen. Thanks to Noel saving Ragna from being the Black Beast thus causing the Calamity Trigger. Let me know if I’m mistaken.

Just Holy Fuck. That's so comedy. Apply that to the Past back to CT and he's actually been beating Jin's ass to the Ground WHILE holding back. Is an actual Valid Question.
