Back in the mid 80s when I was in high school, I worked at a place that made the breakaway beer and wine bottles. They'd let us take some home. So one day, me and my older brother faked an argument at the picnic table (we were having a cookout) and I "got angry" at my brother for teasing me about something, so I grabbed his "beer bottle" and smashed it over his head in front of our mother who was horrified until my brother spoiled it by immediately beginning to laugh.

Didn't that happen with Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee? He died making The Crow and I think it was from a gun that suppose to had blanks in it, the blanks was switched to real bullets. Why the hell would they have real bullets on set? They murdered Brandon Lee.

I remember in theater in production using blown sugar for bottles and windows that broke . but sometimes from the lights, they would deform and wouldn't look or feel correctly

I once had to do a stunt with a fake bottle, where I was hit over the head and fell down. One time, I fell on a piece of the “glass” and it cut my hand open and I had to wait until the scene was over to get it cleaned and bandaged lol
