How Brian McClair stole the show in Edinburgh on 20th anniversary of MUSC

#BurnsNight seemed like the perfect night to start our look back at an epic weekend in the Scottish Capital. When legends and fans from around the world gathered to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Edinburgh Branch of the Manchester United Supporters Club there were many highlights. In this episode we shine a spotlight on Brian McClair who stole the show with his distinctive brand of dry humour and insight. WARNING: This video includes strong language.
The video also includes a special 'tribute' to Eric Cantona's kung fu kick at Crystal Palace - which shocked the world on this very night 27 years ago. Choccy puts a hilarious slant on the story telling his own unique version of how 'The King' clocked the hooligan and what Sir Alex Ferguson said to Eric in the dressing room afterwards.
For those who witnessed this wonderful weekend at the beginning of October 2021 the memories will never fade. Lou Macari, Martin Buchan, Archie Know, Norman Whiteside, Jim McCalliog and David Beckham's father Ted are all featured.
Also featuring Edinburgh piper Lousie Marshall, Edinburgh MUSC chairman Peter Wood, his right hand man Gordon Horn and the Voice of Old Trafford Alan Keegan, this is a tailor made film by John Gubba.

I met Brian and Viv Anderson the day they signed for us then he came to my School ( Burnage High ) with City Player Paul Stewart and he actually remembered me from our meeting at Old Trafford , I couldn't believe it a lovely man and the first Player since the Great George Best to score 20 League Goals in a Season . That was brilliant by Choccy. I remember watching him in his first season when he was the first United player since George Best to score 20 league goals in a season. The media made a big thing about this stat. And when Brian got asked about this personal achievement a few years later in his own inimitable way he just shrugged his shoulders and said “so what”.😀

Well done to the Edinburgh Reds. Brian is a great speaker and a lot of what he says is very true. Great seeing Lou, Martin and Archie, names I will always remember unlike some of the players now. I will always remember the emotion in Lou's voice commentating on the radio after United got that 2nd goal in 99, he has a great love for the club. Enjoyed watching this you tube and will watch again

The Jocks are more socially and geographically alligned with the Geordies, and the Newcastle fanbase goes from Scotland to as far South as Humberside and across to Carlisle, and down to Barrow in Furness. True fans will always support the team whatever league we play in. For many of us our season in the old second division was one of our favourites. Billionaire and state sponsored owners have no loyalty to fans or club history and the fans will be there long after self serving owners have bled them dry. Whether that’s manchester Newcastle or anywhere else.

It's all about opinions, and I don't think Man Utd will ever rekindle the glory days of the Fergie era. Times move on my friend, and you can be on top of world one minute and fighting for scraps the next. It's usually the fellas with the most wealthy owners who come out on top, and Newcastle United(the only proper United, where the East of the City amalganated with the West and two clubs came together) will be serious threats to the Septic Six in little time at all. Man Utd and Spurs in particular have been crying like babies since the Toon takeover. The Saudi's have been sponsoring Man Utd for millions a year since 2008. Total jealousy and hypocrisy, and all because the richest people in the universe bought Newcastle instead of Glazer's and Levy's clubs who are up to a billion each in debt. Our owners buy paintings that are'nt even originals for similar amounts

Sorry but you’re way off target. Non of these fans are glory hunters. Many travelled to Scotland from all over the world. United have not win a trophy for years now. These guys are some of the most dedicated fans on the planet. And many were supporting United since the 50s 60s & 70s

That’s harsh. Personally I think Choccy is a quality act and 100% natural. People in that room were hanging on his every word and enjoyed all his stories enormously. Truth is he was giving us real memories. It was not supposed to be stand up comedy with contrived punch lines.
