Hey ken, I’m a felon and it was a simple mistake I got into with my girl friend, and I’m still with her, and it has affected my life, my kids life because I can’t get a good paying job to get a house! We’re onto our second child, while I have another with another women… You need to get a petition going and this needs to end! I made a mistake, and promised to never do it again, and it’s not fair that society discriminates against people like us. I have so much ambition to work in the medical field, but can barely land a ware house job…. It starts with us guys.

as someone as a healthcare professional, I can tell you that unless she can get that record expunged she will NEVER get a job as a pharmacist... unless its a mom and pop, self insure, and reduced pay.

In 2000 I spanked my stepson for stealing and using drugs and selling them at school. Then I found out my now ex wife was dating a detective in town the next thing I knew I had charges and was going to court, they twisted That I spanked my son and made it out to be more than it was. I have never been in trouble before or since. this was 21 years ago I still can’t find a job I have been beat up shot at humiliated fired you name it and I can’t find a job or hold one because they let me go. I can’t do nothing to get rid of this felony and it is ruined my life and my children’s life and no one seems to help I am a good person I go to church I believe in God and I just feel like the system has let me down

It's been 21 years? And you've never been able to get it expunged? Have you looked into your states rules and regulations on getting upur felony expunged? In New Hampshire, after 7 years you can get your class B felony expunged, and after 10 years for a class A felony. The only exceptions being m*rder, attempted m*rder, and any se*ual assault and/or ped*philia. Obviously, all states are different, but I would imagine every state has their own set of guidelines for this. ESPECIALLY after 21 years have already passed by! And, of course, the courts don't just automatically expunge your records. You must apply to have it done. Plus, they will only do this on your first felony. None after that. I would DEFINITELY look into your state's guidelines and process for doing this!

If she wants to continue as a pharmacist she likely needs to do it as the owner/partner in a small pharmacy... she'll need to find a benefactor/investor. As a felon, she can't be bonded which is a huge problem insurance wise for any established pharmacy or pharmaceutical company.

Connections don't often override a companies legal department or HR. From denying you a job. Asong as lawyers and politicians make it easy for companies to be sued then that will take precedent it's all about mitigating risk if companies want remain insured. Some companies like FedEx and UPS can list themselves as fair chance but They will evaluate your record over your skill set in this day and age. Background checks ever since 911 have become ubiquetous and very profitable for these agencies.. Both UPS and FedEx in my area denied me a part time warehouse job my felony was not recent nor theft or violent yet a 7yr felony held me back and my offense was unrelated to the positions for which I applied. The US doesn't care about correction or rehabilitation as othe countries do they focus on punishment and exemplifying the offender. The system will not change and tax payers are left with the tab. I wonder how this fills in with the labor shortage.. Some of us do want to work.

Hi, I was wondering whatever happened to Jennifer and if she was able to get a pharmacy position? As a healthcare professional, I understood why she wasn’t getting interviews because strangers are not going to hire her (unless she could have that expunged from her record). In all reality, I believe exactly what you said, it’s her connections. Connections is going to get her a job. Unfortunately, many people are afraid to hire an addict If they are going to have contact with the actual problem, the meds she filled out for patients. But I do believe connections with people is her second chance. I wanted to know if that happened? Because half her friends & people she has worked with or know had an addiction and nobody knows about it. They were more sneaky and got off of it before anybody realized. Many healthcare professionals were addicted to the same meds they were giving patients and they still have their job so she has nothing to be embarrassed about. I hope she got her second chance, please let me know if she did. Great awesome video! Tricia

if you got a felony you need to accept that nobody will hire you unless you recommend by a friend or family member but this is unlikely. I believe people with felonies needs to get social security check or other government help. it is fair to get a check and housing.

Again it's not about second chances when pharmaceutical company X can get sued for hiring someone with a conviction especially in this woman's case. This guy is plugging his book but provides little insight on how connections unless your dealing with the oner CEO CFO that can look the other way regardless of risk or fiduciary responsibility to a companies share holders. Money talks and BS walks.

Don't repeat the same mistakes everything is recorded so don't mess it up one get a full name change get a address never use in your old name ,apply for a id as a new person to get a new number or go to another state ,finger print on state level, 2nd get a tin from IRS web site application for common law employee , get a copy send it certified mail. Now you have a new identity keep a secret information cost money & companies pay for that & will practically give it away

@@edwardgarza5104 That's messed up too, when a person completes their sentence if convicted are supposed to constitutionally speaking have paid their debt to society. However that is clearly not the case. With even people who were not convicted either through dismissal before finding, or by completing a deferment or chance to prove they are worthy of being free of conviction for the charges.

Can you really get a felony for personal drug addiction as a pharmacist? I could see it marking your pharmacist status, but to get over 1 year jail time for stealing / using drugs doesn't seem right. I think she did something worse.

Could I be a friend to someone who is addicted to Coke, Meth? NOOO. Can I be friendly and sociable, meet you for lunch, if you were once addicted to pills? Yes, no problem really. I don't consider that to be a big deal, so I can hang out with you. If it's not a serious crime, why not hang out with that person?? Don't judge minor crimes, or you're next...

The thing is that they shouldn't have gotten a felony in the first place, I understand people CAN change but by being a felon they have effectively shown that they have done enough criminal actions that they have had to of gone to jail for over a year. Non-violent felonies can typically be expunged after a period of time, otherwise they have to deal with less job opportunities.
