If anybody wants to know about Sanaathana Dharma(Hinduism) just directly read Bhagavad-Gita, Vedas, Upanishads and also Bhashyas by Adi Shankaracharya... Don't read any chopped versions written by other religious people, since they are nowhere connected to India culturally, geographically, heritageously and spiritually..

Yeah, that's the right way. If non-muslims want to learn about Islam then they should read real islamic sources same with muslims who want to learn about other religion.

But vedas, upanishads, bible and many other religious scriptures are very huge in size. Studying them might become a big problem. Its good to study them in a proper and systematic way. For example, learning the concept of God in major religions is a big part to study about. We can't just open vedas, bible or quran and find the answer. We need a secondary book WITH REFERENCES of course. That would be better.

If we are reading books of other religions it should not be biased by any other religion only then can you compare each religion but there will also be your inherent personal bias
