I love Kennedy too. But I think it would have been so much better if Nina just said (at the very beginning), "Senator, we both know you will not be voting for me. I don't need your vote to be appointed. I will not answer any of your questions." And then turn to stone. He has no authority to force her to say anything. She could sit there like a rock for all of his 5 minutes. That would have been better for everyone's sake.

WHY does EVERYONE of the nominees, for ANY job, always say “Thank you for that question”. 😡 EVERYONE that holds a public office and doesn’t keep the oath the swore too should be arrested.

I think “Thank you for that question” is a matter of Senate Chamber protocol. The fact that they never actually answer any questions is what is annoying and aggravating.

I think its simply to use up as much time as possible so they wont get grilled as long and they can avoid answering the questions.

I think it’s a tactic to “burn the clock”…if you say “Thank you for the question, Senator…” 10 times, you could burn away 20-30 seconds and think of how you’ll dodge a question.

Having watched tons of these hearings, I can virtually guarantee you that any time a nominee begins with, "Thank you for that question, Senator..." the next thing out of their mouth will be a complete lie.

Immediately disqualify any nominee who refuses to specifically answer a question!.... They must also be forced to answer YES or NO as well as give their "personal opinions"!
