Thanks James your opening monologue helped me think it through and the answer is this: (Don’t know if this was said later in the show but….) 1. Everything Donald Trump does is for Donald Trump. 2. Trumps innate political skills are telling him that having been shot he can now appeal to a much wider base. So the speech he was going to give to pump up and maximise the vote of a narrower base is obsolete. A gentler speech that appeals to the sympathy vote (for want of a better phrase) he is calculating will win him more votes.

Big thing that’s missing here is that your friend group has a connection via social media and young people don’t feel the same difference those who grew up without technology feel comparing online to in person contact with their friends, for me missing school meant I’d miss out on seeing my friends and I’d be out the loop on what’s happening, vs now you just message them in a group chat.

Aghhhh 😩 This woman (Fahima) should not be a teacher. Children don’t attend school for a myriad of reasons but can I just be clear that there is a plethora of research to debunk the long told myth that working class parents do not have aspirations for their children.
