The morning star is just the vampire killer but with a different name, they probably thought "vampire killer" was too tacky. There's one aspect from Simon's portrayal from castlevania judgment of all things that can be interesting for a narrative. Different from Trevor, Simon comes from a Belmont family that is well established and has grown up listening to all the stories of his legendary ancestors, so he grows up determined to put his name into history like his ancestors, so he's confident and dedicated, he has trained his whole life waiting for his time to shine. And it's this eagerness to do it that leads him into Castlevania alone without any help or preparation (he's like 19) as soon as it shows up. He succeeds because he's extremely capable but his recklessness gets him cursed by dracula in the end. In Judgment, his motivation to fight is to prove to himself that he didn't succeed because of the whip but because of his own skill, they can probably explore that in a in-between season before simon's quest is adapted.

If they did want to play with Simon’s design a neat idea could be that as a manifestation of Dracula’s curse by night his hair goes vivid red, and maybe he becomes a little vampiric looking along with acting a bit feral.

They should also add a kickass remix of vampire killer if they haven’t already. They did great with bloody tears so I have faith that they can do vampire killer correctly

Most of the season for Simon should be his hunt for Dracula's castle while the final two episodes can be his one man assault on Dracula and his minions. Simon needs to be an absolute unit.

After how Netflix handled the heroes of Castlevania 3/Curse Of Darkness, I would never want Simon or Christopher to get the Trevor treatment or god help us, the Hector makeover.

I agree that every Belmont has to be totally different. They're like Joestars they all share certain universal traits but they are all distinct from one another. I think especially with Trevor and Simon they need to draw a contrast between them since they are potentially the first two Belmonts viewers of the show will be introduced too. It's a Jonathan Joseph situation only in reverse.

I have an idea for how they should handle Rondo of Blood I feel that Rondo of Blood should be a 2 cour series We have richter starting out in his dracula X chronicles clothing but at some point he needs to rip off his sleeves, and maybe he gets a head injury and that's where the headband comes from to resemble what he wears in Rondo of Blood While Maria Renard is the opposite She starts off immature and wears her Rondo of Blood outfit, but later she gets "Clothing fit for a vampire hunter" Something to resemble her Dracula X chronicles clothing and this could be used as a sign of her maturing

The first couple episodes could be set around Castlevania 1, and Simon fighting through the castle. It would be around 3 or 4 episodes and end with Simon learning he is cursed. The next episode, and the rest of the seasons following Simon, is set around Castlevania 2 with Simon fighting the curse and reluctantly accepting help along the way. He's a straight edge who's hellbent on honor and righteousness, unlike Trevor. He's kind, but fierce against his opponents, and even has a moment or two with Dracula in each segment's final fights. He's basically the face of the Castlevania franchise, so we treat him as such.

Indeed, The Simon Belmont animated story should be made with the Simon's Quest Curse on the Belmont Clan and tied to the land, tied strongly to the fate of the land and the rise of the creatures of Darkness, as Simon is getting weaker and dying, so is the land and the monsters rise stronger, but Simon should not decay, only become weak, thinner, with a look similar to Gabriel Belmont on the LOS series, since Gabriel's armor was made to resemble Simon's armor from Simon's Quest. the Church and people hating the Belmont Clan because he is indeed cursed after his fight with the Monster known as Dracula (more on that below) and the blame he gets after the Succubus plants the seeds of hate on Simon as you guys said. Simon indeed becomes the legend and the template for his descendants, and a proud staple of his ancestors. In his childhood perhaps Alucard (in a different look similar his look in the Aria of Sorrow, since he watches over the Belmont Clan through time) and part of his Belnades family members or Selena as a child student (and Childhood friend of Simon) of the Speakers are the ones that train him. But Simon and Aludard decided to strengthen Simon on his body and his physical abilities and skills as to not depend on the magic of his Belnades bloodline being the source of his strength, and though not so much of a magic user, he is not a dumb brute, and also has a soft side, especially for children and the weak. I guess the Succubus can be known as Medusa (a pseudo name after many), and like Camilla, can be the Antagonist Vampire but similar to the version of Carmilla in Circle of the Moon. She wants Dracula to be resurrected, but instead of raising Vlad Dracula who was resurrected with his wife (based on the animated story) what she wants and what Simon fought, gets cursed by and subsequently raises is the Dark side of Vlad, not Vlad Dracula himself, but the entity created by Chaos and Evil that was part of Vlad and became separate and sentient after Vlad was resurrected with his wife, as he essentially becomes Vlad (Not Mathias Cronqvist) and his evil side IS the monster known simply as Dracula. As Selena embarks with Simon on his quest, he alone as you guys said, pushing himself to the brink to cure not just himself of the Curse, but to heal the land that is tied to his demise and the return of the horrendous creatures of the night. That even though Simon fights mostly alone, he will need perhaps hidden assistance by a church member in the deliveries too, another childhood friend that ends up dead by the Church attacking Simon and Co or by Medusa and her minions. In the end Simon SHOULD NOT die, but live well and the town made on his honor, where the Belmont Clan can have a steady home to plant their roots and sprout from. The antagonists NEED to be good in the sense of great characters, especially including the big bad Dracula, who as mentioned is not Vlad, but his evil side incarnate. And the story CAN be made with only 2 seasons, having S1 as CastleVania and S2 as Simon's Quest each with 12 episodes as stated with a special long episode finale.

I don't think they are gonna do a good job if they ever do. They are already speeding up rondo of blood just so they can milk for Alucard and do symphony of the night. This people don't even care about the Belmonts after Alucard showed up.

I'd like to see Christopher Belmont, personally, there's a little more story to at least his second game which has some potential. And ACTUALLY Simon has four games, the fourth one is another remake of the first game on the Japanese X68000 which also has a Playstation port.

I have faith that they will continue after Trevor, since some time ago, Adi Shankar posted in Twitter about Simon´s design in Grimoire Of Souls and after being invited to Ultimate alongside Richter, in where he said "This is OUR SIMON BELMONT". That could hint that we would see him in the future (although if they want to follow how they came and came according to the games, after Trevor comes Christopher in the XVI century, then Simon in the XVII, so we won´t see him debuting until another some seasons more [if they don´t take a break and instead of advancing, they travel back to the XI century to tell the start of everything with Leon, serving as a prequel]). Now, about everything you said, I agree, I also find it interesting, but there is something that I must disagree. Pardon me if I´m misunderstanding your words, but is stated in the games that not only the Belmonts become stronger and stronger which generation, DRACULA TOO. In fact, humanity has the fear that, because Dracula can be killed but not ultimately destroyed, someday, his evolutive curve will surpass those of the Belmonts, and if he overpowers the Belmont Clan, then everything is lost, specially if Dracula is at full power. At maximum power, he is completely invulnerable except to the Vampire Killer. That´s why the whip gets a lot of importance in the games, and the series depicts clearly how the Morning Star (it doesn´t matter if in the end it is truly the original Vampire Killer or not) is not a conventional weapon with visual storytelling. Let´s compare how a demon or anything related to darkness is killed with the MS or the leather whip that Trevor used at first glance to other people killing demons. The VK / MS NOT ONLY KILLS THEM, BUT ALSO MAKES THEM EXPLODE, which effectively eliminates the danger of being reanimated by a demon forgemaster or similar dark arts (again, remember that demon forgemasters in the series transform corpses into demons), meanwhile, others just kill it, and the corpse mantains in the floor as nothing. Alucard states when confronting Shaft in Symphony Of The Night (both PSX and PSP versions) that the Belmont clan bloodline is supreme among vampire hunters, to the point that it would be impossible for another non-Belmont hunter to defeat one (Jonathan Morris from Portrait Of Ruin being a great, rare exception, since he was capable of defeating a copy of Richter saved in the memory of the VK). If the Belmont clan fails to confront a complete Dracula, how others could even stand against the Dark Lord if they cannot damage him?. Now, returning to the point of Dracula. With the idea of showing how Simon can really easily overpower Dracula, it takes away a good portion of how menacing the Count can be, becoming more an annoyance than a real threat. I would also not make the final confrontation of 1691 (first time Simon kills Dracula) too short, I would make it more or less extended, more longer than the one in 1476, and with both sides being almost equally matched, with the viewers cannot affirming who will win at the end of the day. Coming back to the idea of the growing power between resurrection. My hypothesis is that both Belmont´s and Dracula´s raw initial power is always in crescendo, so even if Dracula is not complete when resurrected prematurely (like in the case of Simon´s Quest), he still has more base power than in 1691. This should give him a little edge when fighting Simon for a last time. PD: The ending you designed would make him look more like a legendary tragical hero than in the games. Although I would like to see Simon survive, I still like the idea. He would be the first greatly loss of the "hero side". Nice display of ideas. Good work. Sorry if the comment became too extensive, but I wanted to explain myself in detail.

It shouldn't. Most people these days associate with Ralph/Trevor the character of a drunken, crude, idiotic, cynical Games of Thrones-like character, instead of the harsh, yet noble soul that he truly is. I would loathe for the terrible Netflix show to tarnish the image of Simon, as well.

If Simon is the protagonist, i would imagine the series would revolve in being around simon and some of his past as he also explores the castle, since we all have only seen bits and pieces of the castle. As well as some backstory on the monsters like medusa or more backstory on Dracula. Also isn't christopher belmont between trevor and Simon? Or does he goes next?

I hope if the Castlevania series continues at down the road we get Galamoth as a secondary antagonist vying to overthrow Dracula. Also, no Carmilla's Mask being some kind of dark-magical sentry?

I'm fellow Castlevania and Simon fan and let me tell you this is a masterpiece the stuff you came up with are so good that I would love to see animation in the actual series. I have a lot things I would love to share with you guys about an adaptation of the original game and it's sequel.

We switch from Drac's body parts being in orbs behind the bosses, to the bosses having grafted his parts to themselves for a power boost. The stakes stun the bosses for enough time to reclaim the body parts. That's my take.

A cool idea for the opening for episode 2 when Simon kills Dracula is to have a call back to Legacy of Darkness and recreate the introduction scene where you hear footsteps through the castle and we get glimpses of the remains of monsters he defeated with the same music from LoD, and when the music picks up and stops repeating, we se Simon and the base of the large staircase leading to Dracula and when he begins walking, Bloody Tears on the organ then kicks in until he reaches the top and enters the room, where we are revealed to Dracula as the same introduction to Dracula music in Legacy of Darkness plays

The original castlevania could easily be 1 episode (or the first 2) of the season and then the rest focus on castlevania 2, and possible time travel shinnanigans with Saint germain. He should, other than what he is dressed in look like Trevor as well. Simon is a prouder character than Trevor, and at the same time a less crass character, so I agree with what you say about his social skills lol

Simon fucking decimated Dracula and I want that to be very, very clearly conveyed when he comes up.

I feel like you kinda left out a bit of character development from Simon in Simon’s quest. The reason why Simon got the curse was because he relished in taking down Dracula which is what gave him the opportunity to curse Simon and by the end Simon learns to be more efficient and take him down really fast. By having this element included you will give Simon a clear bit of character development that ties into how he beats Dracula and it allows Simon to be shown off as a flawed character who’s pride in being a Belmont gets him into trouble. I do think him being a loner could be interesting if it was explained why since it doesn’t make sense now that the church likes Belmonts so having him be overconfident would make more sense now that the Belmonts and especially him get more praise. But I do think the stoic personality is a pretty neat idea it would just need to be explained well and developed in a way that feels integral to the plot. For instance having Simon needing to talk to people like in the game could help him develop social skills. I believe that having the characters need to search for the locations of the mansions could be a fun way to make some jabs at the original game but also make sense of it by having Simon and Selene figure out what the cryptic townspeople are telling them. The orbs can add a sort of puzzle element to the mansions that would make the journey feel like a balance between brain and brawn. The implementation of Selene is an interesting concept but I don’t think she should be the same as sypha in regards to personality because it would feel like a retread of old grounds. So I think making her a bit more sweet and also more optimistic may help her carve a more unique personality. She would definitely need her flaws like make her too trusting which would explain why she would go along with belente then maybe her positive attitude could rub off on Simon in some way. This season should be a bit more simple than the previous seasons since it would reflect this game a bit better like what you guys had set up but the series would feel slightly empty if it didn’t talk about different ideals or philosophy. What I would do in order to allow for both is to create a pretty simple philosophical struggle like pessimism versus optimism which would work by at shining the church in a positive light for the fist time and having the church at first having an optimistic look at Simon and his quest but then as they think about it they start to have worries that makes you kinda understand why the church felt so negatively about the previous Belmonts. This would eliminate the need for the succubus.I already said how I thought this would impact Simon and Selene’s interactions and the townspeople could also reflect this by having some of them untrusting of Simon so they act cryptic. Those are just my ideas so if you have any thoughts I’d like to hear them

I don’t want simons story just to be 1 season though I want it to be at least 2 or 3, I mean he really is the biggest protagonist in the Castlevania franchise, they should add some new and original material to his story for the show to extend it. But only if it feels organic though. Simon is my favorite character and is a character that I’ve been really anticipating since the start of the series. Love the Castlevania animated series and have always been a huge fan of the games and I can’t wait for what the future has in store

The perfect actor/voice for Simon Belmont, should be Sam Heughan from the TV series on STARZ called “Outlander”, he plays one of the main characters on that show named Jamie. Not to mention, he and Graham Mctavish are both in that TV series together as uncle and nephew, as actors they have history working together. I think Sam Heughan will make a perfect Simon Belmont in my opinion.

I really like your idea but I would like to tweak the ending a bit. Instead of having Simon beat Dracula only to find that the curse didn’t get removed because Selena got cursed (which I feel would be a punch to viewers from out of left field), I think it would make more sense to pit Simon’s noble and heroic attributes against his self preservation. The story starts off the way you two describe, but with more focus on the threat the curse is on Simon’s life. At first, it’s just in “the back of the mind” and doesn’t feel so urgent as Simon is more focus on save civilians then the threat to his life (through this focus starts to change as he starts to develop feelings for Selena) and they are making good progress. This changes, however, once the succubus’ subplot reaches the main story, it increases the sense of urgency as the heroes are forced to waste time dealing with the problem. Then, when Simon uses the watch and see some men of the cloth, he “sees” a future where he and Selena are living happy together with three children (maybe a fourth on the way) and he is faced with a conundrum: does he ignore them (which no one would ever know) or save them (to make it more tempting, have the men be antagonistic towards Simon from beginning to the fight). Finally, after defeating Dracula, the curse is removed but because it took so long, Simon’s body ends up weak and he dies 1-5 years later. Edit: I just had another thought, put a limit (or something) on how the watch can be used. A reason why Simon doesn’t become overly reliant on it (spamming it constantly) and only use it for difficult times.

Of all the bad decisions Netflix made adapting Castlevania potentially erasing Simon Belmont from it´s canon is one of the most offensive. That´s like if Disney decided to make Luke Skywalker a Star Wars Legends character.

Hope we hear Simon’s theme from Super Castlevania 4 when he shows up to fight Dracula and when he is in the castle fighting similar to the games.
