👋 How much does it cost to own a R35 Nissan GT-R and a A90 Toyota Supra? And what car is worth more in the eyes of the state? In todays video I go over how much it cost to own an R35 Nissan GT-R along side my A90 Toyota Supra. Overall I don't think it's too bad having these dream cars side by side. But I am shocked that the GT-R has a lower tax value compared to the Supra!! Actually resale value, the GT-R is worth way more lol!
In todays video I go over all of the costs I've had with owning an R35 Nissan GT-R for two years, and the costs so far with my A90 Toyota Supra. For being cars that are roughly $60,000 and $70,000, they really don't cost much to upkeep. Everyone dais owning a Nissan GT-R would be expensive. But it is super easy to maintain myself and doesn't cost much more than normal cars to own. The Supra isn't too bad either as fast as ownership costs go.
But thats some insight on the Insurance cost for my Nissan GT-R at age 25 and insurance on my 2020 Supra. And then taxes and registration as well!

Those luxury taxes and county taxes in North Carolina are ridiculous in a lot of places. Everybody needs a tunnel though! 😂 Love that GTR! Thanks for the great vid Brian! @8gojunior

Just a quick note, the 6 mos vs month-to-month isn't the same for every insurance company so be careful when you say that. I use USAA, and I specifically asked that question after hearing you say it. For USAA there is no difference, and it's more of convenience than saving money. I do not pay more by paying month-to-month as compared to every 6 months.

Thanks for all of the information because I've been on the fence. I have a A80 and R34 but im looking for a semi comfy GT I can daily if need be and go on rallies with. With both successors of these cars avaliable I've been going back and forth and which one to choose. It seems like the GT-R is the logical choice over the A90 especially with it being more practical.

my 2003 911 turbo was cheaper to insure than 2011 mazda 3 (daily beater) -- 2009 /10 GTR is cheaper to insure than my 15 m4. :) by like 200 per 6 months. crazy! . i know it's do to age. just amazing how BMW F8x is so expensive to insure.

How long do you think you will keep the GTR? They have held their value well over the years but I wonder how long that will last? There are a lot of cars coming out that are starting to approach the GTR’s performance for reasonable prices(ie: Tesla Model 3 performance, Corvette C8....etc). Just wondering if you will ever get to a point where the GTR doesn’t still make sense financially.

Well I still like the car a lot!! Unless it has a major issue I don't see it going at least for another few years. I'm more looking towards having it paid off within 2 years. And at that point probably trade the Supra for something else. And then maybe 2 years later trade the GTR for a newer GTR.

I found a very low mileage MY14 GTR black edition for 53K And an almost new (6k miles) MY18 GTR for 77K My question to you, are the 24K difference worth it for the newer Model? What would do in my stead?

Thats a tough one. But if that 2014 has a clean CarFax and is in good shape. Go with that!! You'll be able to sell it for at least that price in the next few years. But if you have the funds, thats a great price on a 2018! All I've seen are 2017+ going for low 80s and up

Supra is a newer car...of course it'll be more expensive from the start.....better comparison would be to have the A90 be as old as your gtr.

How is it that the KBB value for 2014 GTRs is higher, even for private parties?

Kool Keith That’s not the KBB value. The tax is based off a more inclusive generalization of the value of the car. And they always go to the lowest point for tax value. Mikes Audi R8 tax value was like $25k! So tax value has nothing to do with actual resale value. Car still books out at $64k trade in

I have a video coming on that actually! Some car be, but for the most part each part is roughly $700, which is a good bit, but compared to the price of the car, pretty inexpensive.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed i have been looking around for service parts and stuff and for what i can find is that the insurance and bell housing and transmission and fuel ofc is the expensive part of owning, the brake changes is okay but little expensive here in sweden but still can afford it hehe, insurance is 450 dollars i belive it is from Sek=USDollar XD

In my opinion I could never say that a Supra is even close to as expensive as owning a Gtr. The tire prices alone on a Gtr would tear an average joe ass up. Also the parts on a Gtr are very expensive and I’m a bmw m guy , I’ve owned the e46 m3 and e92 m3 6mt , and some parts on the Gtr could be more expensive than those cars and the e92 m3 is very expensive to maintain hands down. Honestly I don’t see a comparison at all between those two cars the Supra a90 is not in the same class as the Gtr , it’s more in the class of a 370 z if you ask me because the z was almost the same price when they first hit then as time progressed and years have gone by you can pick them up in the mid 20s to low 30s . I can see the Supra doing the same thing in the next 3 to 4 years. Also the Supra isn’t considered a super car like the Gtr is if I’m correct? Lastly as long as the Gtr has been out a lot of techs still refuse to touch them , and the ones that do charge a crazy premium !

Tires cost the same for each car. $1,500 is what I paid for the Michelin PSS for the GTR, same tire the supra has. Insurance is a little bit more on the GTR and then taxes and registration is cheaper for it being an older car. Neither car has had any replacement parts needed. GTR brakes will be more expensive. Supra oil change will cost more tho since it has more oil. So in my experience owning both. They cost about the same, but GTR is cheaper in taxes

Bros FOURR Speed is that so as far as tires go ? I didn’t know they were the same size so I stand corrected. I remember when I drove my Gtr daily for 8 months and it’s was dumb ass expensive ! and tires on the Gtr do not last long at all , especially in the rear. If the Supra tires shrewd away at the same rate then gotdammit to that car as well.
