Shebahn Aherne joined Super Sunday Matchday to discuss how Emma Hayes' Chelsea won the WSL title and what her exit will mean for the club.
Chelsea hammered Man Utd 6-0 to cruise to a fifth successive WSL title, giving Emma Hayes a fond farewell in her final Blues game.
The Blues went into the game level on points with Manchester City - who beat Aston Villa 2-1 in their last match of the season - and two ahead on goal difference, knowing a big win would likely secure the title.

You all journalists needs to stop making excuse for City, yes they lost Shaw, so as Chelsea infact Chelsea lost more players to injury than City, they still managed to clinch the WSL title.

Chelsea lost two strikers early in the season and still ended with more goals score than City who lost one striker with just three games to go.

Chelsea FCW injury list for 23/24 season; Nouwen, Bright, Mjelde, Buchanan, Bjorn, Reiten, Cankovic, Fishel, Macario, Kerr, Ramirez, and Kirby. At some point, we didn't have these players to turn to. I think in one of our Champions League games we went with a bench of five substitutes because of injures. Yet we made it to two semifinals, a final, and league champions. Regardless it is still an achievement in itself

@@ExternalInputs We still had to make up the GD. We won the title cause of ourselves. That arsenal win at city gave us a second chance but ultimately, it was down to ourselves.

@@M4NA5 But it's ultimately down to us being in a position to capitalise and we also had to make up the GD. If city had capitalised on our defeat against liverpool, would you say city won the title cause of liverpool? no you wouldn't

Arsenal winning at Man City scoring late goals shifted the title back to Chelsea. They couldnt even hold on to draw. Arsenal helped Chelsea whether they want to admit it or not.

You make it seem like Arsenal are this benevolent team that helps other teams win titles, Arsenal had no intention of "helping" Chelsea, they had their own objectives of getting the most points they could get that is literally the only reason they beat City, nothing more nothing less

Macario and Ramirez look like great additions and Beever-Jones is an exciting talent but Kerr is the best in the world at what she does and a fit Sam Kerr walks into any team in the world. What I will say, however, is that we're set up well for a post-Sam Kerr Chelsea if she were to leave
