How Christopher Nolan Changed The Movie Industry Forever
📷Instagram: / nic.munoz
Christopher Nolan is a perhaps the worlds biggest filmmaker right now, having made phenomenal movies such as Memento, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer. The crazy thing is that he is not just a director but has also played a part in writing every single one of his films. But how are his movies so good? What is it about them that makes them so intriguing. What makes Christopher Nolan the success that he is? These are the questions that I want to explore in this video.

Cecil B DeMille was the all time king of spectacles with depth. Speilberg took up the mantle from "Jaws" until "Saving Private Ryan" then he decided to make smaller personal films so that left a hole. Now the battle is between Cameron and Nolan. Nolan has won because of the frequency at which he produces big films with big ideas.

This is a true story. In August 2020, I was rewatching The Dark Knight and the moment I finished it, the first thought that came to my mind was 'How can I do that?' The Dark Knight is the film that made me go down the rabbit hole of cinema and I'm grateful for it. It made me a better photographer and I've written 8 screenplays. Three of those are an original trilogy and two of those are the extension of that said trilogy set back three thousand years prior (it's a fantasy epic). And the other three is a Superman, Batman, and a Justice League film. And many more to come. I'm 18 now and I hope one day these screenplays will be made as a film form.

Nolan is a bonafide stone cold genius, quality over qauntity is way better than just churning out movie after movie, along with Tarantino he's also my favourite film maker and you're right he will go down in history as one of the greatest directors ever, his movies will truly stand the test of time my favourite movie is Memento , Oppenheimer is his masterpiece and truly deserves to sweep the board at this years Oscars, great video just gave you a sub good luck with your channel.

Tenet only makes sense if you've seen it a couple of times lol. But I agree that Nolan is the goat, the Hitchcock of his era.

Christopher Nolan is a movie making genius. Period. Where would cinema be today without him ? Apparently the movie industry is noticing his talent and Oppenheimer will take many Oscars home, fingers crossed !!! For me he is the best director working today, he is in a league of his own, because nobody, nobody can reach his level. I love and treasure his movies. I can't wait for more films directed by CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

I just hope that he doesn't go over his head. As much as I do like Oppenheimer, I prefer the early Nolan than present Nolan. Then, he managed to strike balance between being a performer and a technician. These days, he leans more on the latter.

He combined structure & emotions in a unique way. However his last 3 movies failed on the emotions & so were weaker. He also chose a lesser DP

I was 18 when I had made a short film on this topic. My siblings and a consume vhs camera bought on a flea market. Sadly, we could not finish the short because the camera broke and the vhs riped off when I violently pulled open the deck. The camera did only hold for max of 2 or 3 hours.
