I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. It was a real game changer in my learning process and communication skills in English and other languages.😊

Jan, this might be just the thing you and I need for our Russian--at the very least, memorizing a verb and the noun after it to get comfortable with what case we need, or a preposition with its noun. I'm starting to memorize phrases for French (which I'm at the intermediate level in), especially idiomatic ones. But eventually I want to do this for all of my languages. I'm not sure I'd do this from the beginning, though, other than memorizing complete sentences from Glossika or Book2. But I bought the book and will take a look at Lukas' method. Maybe he'll change my mind.

Andy Roberts Yeah, I unconsciously started doing that already. Especially for the genitive case this has been working very well for me. Thanks for your comment! Jan

I did this automatically when living in the Netherlands and learning Dutch... little things like “graag gedaan” and “weet ik veel!”, “mag ik alsjeblieft”, “ga je gang”..... makes such a difference to how it feels to speak, everything just rolls...

In Lukas book he refers countless times to additional book resources and other material like language cases where his method is explainend in more detail on his website. But nothing's there on his website! I find this very irritating about his book.!!

00:59 You meant hearing not looking. Learning a chunk from native speakers, what happens if you are in the moment to have to make your own unique phrase or phrases that makes sense? You will STRUGGLE! you wouldn't be able to. Because you are just remembering phrases from native speakers that wont be to fluency because you will burn out. And it's not fluency if you cant make your own unique phrases thats not remembered from native speakers.

Just learn phrases representative of each area of grammar. Later you replace words according to the situation. Obviously you cannot learn all existing sentences. Just choose the ones which you need the most. Later it helps you build other sentences during conversation or writing.
