After a long bout with cancer and then a great deal of loss in 2020 I needed a boost to get my house in order. It needs a deep clean. Having found myself caring for an 8 year old and home schooling due to covid 19 and caring for the small farm and busy with a remodel i have limited energy and little time. Kim and Aggie make me smile and motivate me to do small bits at a time. In about 10 years i should be through the whole house lol

I understand the opinion some folks have that these kids didn't need the help, they just needed to stop being lazy, but I respectfully disagree with that. You'd be surprised how many young people aren't taught how to do basic "adulting" like how to cook, clean, do laundry, time manage household tasks, sew, etc. I think this was a valuable learning experience for them, but in the end, you get out of it what you put in

You should see what the residence halls are like. I was at the University of Sussex for 3 days in 1985 doing some research on developing countries for one of my degree projects. There were some rooms set aside for visitors but we had to use the kitchen. I had to clean everything before I could even think of doing my egg and toast. I had a right go at the students who were walking away leaving a right mess. The Manager told me they had to completely redecorate every year. (During the summer vacation)

@HereIAm247
@HereIAm247 5 жыл бұрын
Well, they may be lazy brats. But I also think they needed help to learn how to clean, and how to develop a system that works. Believe it or not, many young people today lacks basic cleaning skills. If something is difficult to do, many will shy away from it. This is not as extreme as some of the other cases, but it is definitely something that needs to be taken care of. Not by scolding, but by teaching. This is a way to teach them before the problem gets as out of hand as the other cases. :)

Should've invited their parents! I'm sure they would've given them a kick up the backside and told them a thing or to! Also, as a university student who has to work extremely hard for a high grade (1st degree) I'm disgusted that they say they don't have the time to clean! I had to wash my laundry every week in a sink because I found out I was seriously allergic to certain laundry detergent so I couldn't use the communal laundry room at the uni! I had TIME to get that clean! Just lazy students who shouldn't have been helped and left to live in that filth. And how that girl is going out with that guy I'm shocked! I would've taken that house as a WARNING and just run for the hills!

Leticia Kst It depends on the parent/child for sure. However, I had mates who lived with two disgusting people in the second year of uni, who continuously a left mess in the communal kitchen (I visited once and all I can say is I didn’t want to touch ANYTHING). There was food on the ceiling! My mates stopped cleaning up after them for a while and then found out their utensils were being used by these people and not being cleaned. So in the end, my mates moved all their kitchen stuff into their rooms and avoided using the kitchen as much. Yes they did complain about these two individuals but nothing was done until 8/10 people on that floor stopped cleaning the kitchen and they finally reported it for the last time which I think lead to a cleaning fine. I will say I did visit their place in the first year and it was clean (they did live with other people the previous year but still clean). These two disgusting people didn’t clean until their parents visited! I know that it depends on the people and I’ve known people to go to university and are not sure how to cook a chicken, let alone anything else. Absolute shocker to be honest.

I never understand if its rubbish then put it into a bin, after you eat then wash the plate, mug, knife, fork and spoon straight away.

Wash the dishes with dawn and Clorox as you do wash all the dish cloths...then put them to dry over night. By morning fresh clean wash cloths. Throw in tea towels as well

My sponges j cloaths etc I put slightly damp in a plastic box lid not quite fully on then into the microwave for a 30 sec blast. The heat from that will kill most things.

This isn't living...it's vile. How can you do well academically when you are living in the filth or cook a decent meal - which also affects academics.If this young woman was my daughter, I would drag her out of there...see you in court..those are unlivable conditions and if the young men are unwilling to help and expect her to be their f'n maid, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court.

My kitchen sponge and cloths, when used, make sure it is damp put it in a clean plastic take away box and in the microwave on full for 30 sec. Usually kills anything that might be on them.

If their college dorm looks like that, imagine what their old childhood bedroom looked like, their mom should have gotten on their cases about them not cleaning, that's just pure laziness, the germs and bacteria in that house is terrible.

Students often collect bottles to show how much they've drunk. I'm sure that on the windowsill is probably a small fraction of what they've drunk 😄
