The film and television industry today is dominated by consumerism. We are bombarded with consumerist content and have grown accustomed to it. However, it's important to note that up until about 30 years ago, the mainstream in literature and cinema was predominantly leftist and anti-capitalist. From Europe's four famous literary misers in European literature to American Psycho, we witnessed numerous outstanding works of art that critiqued and resisted capitalism. What happened in these mere 30 years that led to our "consumerist downgrade"?

And most of it was never really in the tradition of these great artists in the first place… it was a synthetic paradise boosted into existence by the CIA through the MK-Ultra program. It had one purpose, make sure the youth do not care for politics, make sure they are divided, make sure they hate the USSR. And the 68’ern(the ones that became most famous) also were never leftists, Foucault, Derrida etc. they all were sellouts, anti-communist propagandists for what became neo-liberalism..

Capitalism enslaves alot if not all things. But I've tended to believe that some things are just off limits. One of those things are Farts. But nope. Capitalism is enslaving Farts too.

Art is all about money laundering and tax evasion, anyone believing otherwise is literally missing the whole point. The sheer garbage of paintings being worth millions is how the right move money around and evade taxes, it always was.
