I remember as a kid Sparklers was SO exciting! Fireworks now sound like a Firefight in Combat

I didn't think you would hear them out in the country! I HATE fireworks, too!! Always have! Wish some of these so-called people in office would do something about that!!!!

Yep, that was our bedtime noises. If they had to work today like we do, well.. maybe they did have to work today. On we go. It will go on around here until Monday. I expect the weekend will be as bad.

We have the same issue here where I live. Yesterday several times we had explosions that would shake our house. Tannerite is not a toy people. Last night the fireworks all around were double the normal amt. That's a lot to start with. No rain here for 5 or 6 weeks so it is extra dry in this 100 degrees. Glad it's over with for another year.

I live in a small town that’s always huge on fireworks. Even medicating my poor dog..it was a miserable night. I hate fireworks.

Same here and we have a dog scared of fireworks, gunshots and thunder and lightening too. Being rural we hear them all. The fireworks came to an end here just as the rain started coming down. Didn’t rain too bad, just enough to give a light show and send everyone inside.

It was terrible out our way. Our Border Collie is petrified. There wasn’t enough of his meds to calm him down last night. Then add in heat lightning and thunder there was no way to have a pleasant evening, I felt like I needed nerve medication to just get through it. You have the right idea. I think I will be doing that next year.

I’m 61 and I still love to hear neighbors enjoying fireworks! I know the thrill the kids are having. I have a dog who is scared of everything and I have no interest in professional fireworks, but if someone is lighting up their backyard, I’m ready for the show! Lol

It was way way worse here last night. A sea of high aerial fireworks non stop from about 20 different neighbors. They are getting more bold and dangerous. Luckily no fires. But we had the car packed just in case. We are in a heavily forested area with only one way out. Also living next to a Reservation that sells tons of fireworks, both legal and illegal. Madness.

I'm with you my friend! HATE 4th of July😠 It starts here in KS the week before and there are no restrictions on the types of fireworks that can be set off. Literally a war zone in the suburbs.

I always hear the White Settlement fireworks, cause they do it at Central Park by my house. When I first moved here I could just go out and watch fireworks from out in the country from my backyard. Twenty one years later, you can't see nothing, because all the tree's have grown up. I'm a tellin' you, I would be HOT if that malarky was happening right at my house. That is awful!!! I haven't bought any fireworks in years and years. What I seem to remember is that they were expensive. In this economy it must be nice to blow a bunch money for that. I know it's a holiday, but the extra food for a get together is already a lot to dish m out. I'm glad you had your grandson to protect you last night. ❤❤❤

Lol, I live in Lovell, Wyoming. Nothing is illegal here. I use over the ear headphones. Ours starts early in the morning, last till midnight. We live in town. Our neighbors shoot off the fireworks. These folks compete with each other. The cost is staggering. Over the ear cuffs. I recommend them.

I have to give my dogs a sedative the vet prescribed to get though the fireworks. They sleep like babies and end up having a peaceful evening even though we don't get to celebrate like we'd like to. Glad everything was safe at the homestead for you.

I'm sure lots of people were also injured by the fireworks.

Last night was spent with ear plugs in when I went to bed. Shame that the critters can't wear them as easily.

We need an ordinance here in Johnson county that limits fireworks to only the only the holiday. I have a neighbor who will pop fireworks for a week.

Yes, up and down all night, checking that nothing has caught fire. Now off to work this morning. There must be half a dozen organized fireworks displays within a half hours drive from me - but evidently that's just not good enough. SIGH - wish it would rain.

We live in Medford, Oregon. This year we had a friend invite my daughter and chihuahua to a cabin on a mountain overlooking the coast. So, I didn’t have to spend my night in an inner bathroom in a beach chair with music and a fan going. I sure hope you were insulated at La Quinta. Fireworks didn’t last long since the apartment across the street is HUD and they couldn’t afford a lot.

We are outside of city limits and we have a very small celebration with fireworks. Our entire neighhood does as safely as possible. We sprinkled the area where we lit them. We only had a few that went up into sky most were ground sprinklers. Sorry that you have to spend the night away for the Celebration of our yet Free Nation because of the Brave. Hugs to You! Debi

That's just ridiculous, especially with how dry it is there. I know laws on fireworks are probably different from state to state, but I don't think those would have even been legal here!

We had a beautiful 4th of July. Fireworks all around us. We set a few off carefully considering the dry weather conditions. We reflected on the freedoms God has given us and that this country hasn’t taken away, yet. As Christians we love to see our neighbors enjoying themselves. I don’t even mind picking up their trash for a yearly celebration of what we have been blessed with. BTW, have you considered how many deaths are caused by distracted drivers (video taping while driving)? I suspect it might be more than fireworks. Love your farming, hope you don’t turn this channel into The View.

This year wasn’t so bad. The 1 neighbor with a small yard that used to set off the big ones that dropped ash on our house didn’t have a party again (he hadn’t really after his wife passed), another neighbor along the fence line must have stuck with fountains cause if he sets our woods on fire it will burn his garage, we just did some small fountains until the mosquitos chased us back in. As far as neighbors across the street and several cities we can hear around us the windows closed with the tv on helped. Our 13 year old pug didn’t have much issues with it. She’s ok with gun shots and the target practice we hear with tannerite but thunder and fireworks usually drive her crazy and there’s been holidays I’ve had to hold her all night. When they made all fireworks legal here they made a limit to only light them off day before, day of and day after. Not a lot of people did fireworks around here the past couple years and the ones that did didn’t have a lot. It’s just the darn cities that aren’t limited that are the loudest

They have been shooting off fireworks every night since the July 1st in Western NY ! Last night we could not believe the extreme fireworks show the put on NY City !! My daughter and I thought gosh : All that money and expense could have been better used to help the poor people of NY City who work hard for their money just to keep body and soul together ! That fireworks show was for when thing are Economically booming and the state has Surplus money and resources. I hope the young people had fun and that everyone was safe ! I would check into a hotel that lets you bring your dog ! Do you all have sprinklers that you could set up where you have concerns? I would turn them on after sun set and only leave them on a very short time when needed. Also I wish you would but yourselves a Dehumidifier ! What a difference that makes when it is insamely hot and humid outside. These collect easily 6- 10 gallons of water from inside your home !! They can me moved from room to room as they are on wheels. These Dehumidifiers improve what ever A/ C system you have exponentially. Right now I have one on in my Basement ( which is underground) . The upstairs one I have in my East facing bedroom and you feel really cool ,so much s,o you might need a sweater to put on. Try buying one and Feel the differece. See how much water / humidity is really in your home from people taking showers and simply boiling water on the stove for pasta , rice or Canning! I want to see you happier and much more comfortable during your Hot Texas Summers. I bought a Hisense Dehumidifier at Lowes and I they are very heavy ! You need help to load it Up Right on your back seat . Put a seat belt around it securely ! and get drive it as close as you can to the nearest door like maybe your Kitchen door if you have one. You can use that water to water anywhere you like outside ! I weekly clean out the bucket that collects the water with Hydrogen Peroxide that I buy at the real Dollar store - for $1. 25/ brown bottle. It sizzles at the bottlm and then I dump that into the toilet or sink. Get yourselves a Dehumidifier ! I don't like the feature where you can attach a hose and and let it drain somewhere. It is much more satisfying dumping the water outside our down a sink when full. They are really helpfull when there is torential rain ouside because they improve the indoor atmosphere 100 % and make the house perfect for sleeping keeping you feeling cool and dry ! They sell them at Lowes and Home Depot but google their availability in Stock beofre you head out shopping. Wishing you super cool and dry A/C conditions in your home year round !

I enjoy fireworks, but professional! Omg...around my neighborhood it was a show, and our dog is terrified of the sounds. Not even the meds the vet gave us helped him. We got him in a small room with a fan and music and it helped...he laid down and pants. If we touch him he pees everywhere! So we closed the door and kept an eye on him. He's fine today, but wow.....

When we lived in WA, we used to go watch the firework program at Grand Coulee Dam. A history lesson and beautiful fireworks--of course with Fire Depts. standing by. That is the way I like fireworks. My husband saw a comment on his X channel--I'll set off as many fireworks as I want, and in the driest grass I can find! I'm a Texan and you can't tell me what to do!--a sentiment certainly not exclusive to TX. I've heard the same type of tripe in other states. What a fool...just sayin'.

I don't like either, I especially dislike firecrackers. My ex-husband threw at my feet a long time ago, took off running & ran into the garage door. I ended up with a concussion.

Our neighborhood is 100 times worse but we take necessary precautions to keep our animals safe and they do just fine. Sorry you have to go to a motel.

Food for thought: There may seem to be more fireworks this year then in the past, but there is a good reason. People may just be celebrating what they believe could be the last 4th of July in this free country. That thought would set me to lighting off a whole mess of fireworks myself. Just saying.

I stayed up late on July the 3rd until July the fourth drinking too Mutch. We had a thunderstorm come in and knock out my power. Woke up at like 9:30Pm and the power was out. It did not come back on until around 3;30 AM. so I got up and watch TV until around 8;00 Am. Went to town for a few things came home and the power was again out the for three hours. I called and within 30 minutes it was back on. No one called to report it because they thought someone else had called. lol

I don’t mind fireworks in their place. Disneyland for instance, Times Square etc. I really hate that my neighbors out here in the country feel like it’s their right to set off things that sound like bombs over our pasture. My horses spend the night startled and stressed until it stops. Liberty isn’t when it infringes on my right to peace and quiet.

I HATE fireworks as well .These folks just dont know how to stop at a decent time.when this holiday falls through the week i feel for people who have to go to work.Its not has bad as it use to be.I feel bad for those who have pets.I have a neighbor who built a HUGE wooden crate shelter and i thought he was going to put excess equipment,/ supplies in it .Nope he puts a German shepherd dog in that thing.Why in heck would you get a large dog like that and dont walk it and keep it in that crate. Stupid people.

I just watched on youtube 'Infamous Texas Deep Freeze 2021' and you are in it @0:46 - 0:48. Wasn't sure if you knew this. Maybe you and your doggies can get some popcorn and watch it at the hotel!

Next week, they will be driving with their windows down ( in all that heat) in their cars to conserve gas because they can't afford the gas .smh. Also, start calling police so they can pick up their trash.Now days most you can't talk to personally. They get attitudes. They have done this so long they think they can do this.If it's the city road most likely you can't do nothing about the fireworks BUT something should be done about the trash left behind

That's a lot of fire flying across your lawn! With that, any recourse for you legally with your neighbors? I'm sure it's probably still not allowed to shoot fireworks across ones neighbors lawns? Reckless endangerment? Darn that would def take the peace away living in the country with neighbors like that!

what a waste of time, money and perfectly decent air quality

So tired of people acting a fool over fireworks. Ive found if you run a heavy duty fan, it muffles the sound for the dogs. One of those fans costs about $350 but at least you would have the fan and it would pay for itself by not having to pay for a hotel yeaf after year. As far as the neighbors, I would have no trouble calling the police if their were shooting fireworjs or littering my property. Ill remember all these people who pay hundreds of dollars for the thrill of a pop and a bang. Don't come to my door asking for a hand out.

This has been the traditional American Independence Day celbration for longer than you have been alive. You choose your attitude, and imho you choose poorly.
