These are the lessons that I have learned from running! I've ran in middle school, high school, and college and this sums up my time in those times of running and racing.

These are all of my pr's all the way back from the start of my running career. I know I'm super slow, but in the last 1 year, I've improved a lot. 1st grade - 9:30 mile (No xc) 2nd grade - 8:40 mile (No xc) 3rd grade - 7:55 mile (No xc) 4th grade - 7:16 mile (No xc) 5th grade - 7:01 mile (No xc) 6th grade - 6:59 mile (No xc) 7th grade - 6:52 mile (No xc) 8th grade - 6:53 mile (No xc) 9th grade - 6:53 mile (No xc) 10th grade - 6:30 mile (1st year XC - 23:40 5k) 11th grade - 5:28 mile (XC - 20:42 5k) 12th grade - 4:55 mile (XC - 18:14 5k) I was one of the fastest kids in my grade from 1st grade all the way up through 5th grade, and then puberty struck most people, so they got faster. During middle school (grades 6-8) I was a very slow runner and I never put any effort into it although I loved running. It wasn't until right after the end of my first season of doing cross country that I really wanted to improve. So I started training. But tragedy struck right before 10th grade... I fractured my leg. But it worked out because that's also when COVID hit. After recovering, I never really trained after that until after the following cross country season because I was too scared to hurt myself again. During my 2nd year of cross country, I realized that I was way faster than before, even after coming right out of an injury 6 months earlier with no training since then. I'm going into 12th grade this year, and I have been training all summer long. I ran a 5k right after school let out for the summer this June and it was better than any 5k I've run before. I've still got a long way to go to get where I want to be, as well as anyone to consider my times to be good. My goal for this upcoming cross country season is to break 18:30 in the 5k and my goal for the track season later on in the school year is to break 5 minutes in the mile. (Edit: As my senior year comes to an end, my cross country goal for this year has been met, breaking 18:30 in a 5k. As for the spring track season, I have also achieved my goal of breaking 5 minutes in the mile.)

This is inspirational because I am a sophomore in HS and I trained all summer to break a 17:30 5K and the first week of the season I got injured and I don’t know what my injury is. I am still injured and it makes me sick about how my teammates complain about running and I realize that was me until now. So no matter where you are in life there is always something to be thankful for.

If you decide to keto and let your body repair the damage resulting in diabetes, your body will return to a non insulin resistant state (diabetes). It seems like a myth but I've seen so many people turn it around for their lives, as well as my own! God bless !

@@kreativenarciso4199 There is no evidence that type 1 diabetes can be reversed. Damage to the pancreas cells are permanent and although although people with prediabetes can lead a healthier lifestyle and prevent type 2 diabetes, as type 1 diabetes is an auto-immune disease it is not the same. You are mistaking type 2 diabetes (caused by an unhealthy lifestyle) with type 1 diabetes (an auto-immune disease with an unknown cause).

From my experience that means that yourre probably at your peak mileage that your body can physically handle. Everybody is different and a lot of these youtubers tell people to go out and run 60 plus miles a week at your peak but the truth is not everyone can just immediately do that. Some people have to build up year to year so maybe your peak mileage this year is 40 but next year it could be 45 or 50 and so on. Strength training is also extremely crucial to reaching those higher mileages otherwise you will almost certainly get injured

That's really good for an 8th grader! It depends on the school you go to. For Virginia Tech, you need to be able to run probably around a 4:15 mile to get on the team
