Esports are just one thing with the potential to conjure potent emotions in all of us.
It just so happens that they’re damned good at it.
It might feel like a weird fit when a fistbump and a shouted “nice” is the typical affirmation a player receives.
But this is competition, after all. It’s not just about finding out who the best are and putting them in a numbered spreadsheet. It’s about the humans behind the hoists and highlights.
So while many esports players display a cool professionalism, or at least a charming awkwardness…
There are a few players who are different.
They wear their heart on their sleeve, and regularly let their emotions out for the viewers to see. And perhaps no one fits that billing more than French Counter-Strike veteran Dan "apEX" Madesclaire.
apEX has essentially grown up on a Counter-Strike server, but despite now being a wizened veteran of the game, his emotional timbre is one of the few things about him that hasn’t changed very much.

great human? When Kyojin missed a nade on Nuke apEX went to T spawn and was spraying his MAC-10 up to the air. Imagine you are rookie like Kyojin was, and your leader doesnt stand behind you, and rages like this because of your mistake. This really ruins your confidence.

@@forgotmyname64 BNB need to model their playstyle against proper t1 competition. Sometimes it felt like they completely abandoned strats with the discrepancy they had with the top teams. I wish they did better in the legends stage. Really excited to see their run in the next big event. Spirit have been under the radar after playing insanely well last year. Hoping to see them step up their game consistently. They were really scary in the major.

When I started watching CSGO, this guy always reacts and does plenty of facial expressions every time the camera pans on him. I already said to myself what a cry baby, then throughout the time I just suddenly appreciates him, how being animated and emotional he is realizing he really loved the game.

This video aside, literally everyone else in the community knows that Apex as that one noob IGL that just can't frag if his life depends on it (he's the OG Hooxi except he never improved) but when his teammates carry him, he does weird dances and uses that as trash talk. Just a very weird character overall, him still playing for a Tier 1 team is one of the great mysteries of the Universe.

Who would have thought that a team designed to give every advantage to their star player, would rely on said star player. NO SHIT they rely on ZYW0O. thats the entire fucking point.

@@hamp9061 you have zero clue what the fuck you are talking about lol. Theres a difference between choosing 5 well known players to make a star team and making a team that actually makes sence. I guarantee that you never heard of Zyw0o or misuuta before apEX came along, recognized their talent, and added them to the team. He built vitality from nothing. Now stop making a fucking fool of yourself thinking you know everything about cs just because you are esea b. Furthermore let me completely fucking obliterate that "team" you just constructed. To start, you have a MASSIVE language barrier. English, danish, Ukrainian, Russian, and brazilian. So you're going to need a very long time to overcome that. Second: s1mple is your star player sure. But you have the issue of clashing egos between Fer, Dupreeh, and s1mple/electronic. Theres a good chance that won't work. Third: Fer and Dupreeh both anchor on certain maps, meaning one of them is going to have to switch roles completely, most likely meaning he will underperform since he will be uncomfortable in whatever that new role is 4th: you don't have a someone capable of calling strats and getting good reads on opponents. 5th: you don't have any lurker on the team. 6th: map pool is going to kind of suck. Dupreeh doesn't like mirage that much. However Fer and Dupreeh both like overpass, but Dupreeh has only played it 3 times in the past 3 months. S1mple and electronic come from NaVi, who have a very good Nuke. But Dupreeh and fer don't have the greatest t Records on nuke. Vitality (dupreeh) permaban is Ancient, and s1mple and electronic have Vertigo as a permaban. So now you are forcing players to learn completely new maps. Now that leaves you with the only maps that may all players consistently play being Inferno, Dust2, and Mirage. Thats an AWFUL map pool.
