How Deep The Ocean REALLY Is

Most people don’t understand just HOW DEEP the ocean really is. If you put Mt. Everest into the water upside down, there would still be over a mile before you got to the bottom. It’s roughly the average cruising altitude of a 737 airplane! Imagine you walk off the coast into the water. Here's what you'd see...
This short is part of Huge If True, our optimistic show about science and tech. We just made a longer episode all about mapping our oceans! Subscribe to support us and to see more.

Cool! Anyways here’s a recipe for brownies! Ingredients: - 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter - 1 cup sugar - 2 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan. 2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. 3. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into the prepared pan. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Don't overcook! 5. Let cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy the chocolatey goodness! 🍫

@@wearetheremnants1615no, it doesn't exist. navy's from around the world cone to the organisation MARIN in the Netherlands to test their technology there. and we're still limited by physics thus what they test there, is already more than what the navy's can ask for. and given the recent failures of the us navy's anti radar ships getting a lot of greenwater, it's unlikely that that technology exists
@Mr.JesseR
@Mr.JesseR 5 ай бұрын
@@wearetheremnants1615 one thing to add, to go that deep, you need stronger or thicker materials. think about the titan submarine. this used that technology you are talking about actually. what we as humanity are missing, is ways to manufacture materials that are PERFECT. yet we cannot. the titan sub was indeed calculated to go to the depths it was used for, but the materials weren't good enough. most militairy subs can probably go a meter or 100 deeper than that they are rated for, but the materials will probably fail. when the materials are too weak you can choose to thicken them. but if you keep doing that, it just gets too heavy. maybe in 50 years we'll have militairy subs that can go that deep, but thats a very optimistic view
