It’s so true. Evan as a true Christian, I fell into the claws of opioids after a surgery. Once I felt that “Extreme temptation”, it quickly lead to “obsession” (addiction), I then allowed myself to be “infested” with the decisions I made in life for years, a decade actually. Deeper and deeper, darker and darker. I gradually walked away from my position as a full time assistant pastor, speaking more like a sailor than a believer. But there I was. No, I don’t think a Holy Spirit filled person can be “possessed” because that means ownership and i’ve already been bought for a high price. But, nowhere in scripture does it state that we can’t be influenced by evil and repeatedly, Jesus warns us about such things in the Gospels. It is written that “once we are in His hand, nobody can remove us.” But it never mentions weather or not we can crawl out of that hand on our own at anytime?

I argue that most christians are satanists that dont know it.

It’s more than a horror movie. Every detail is cannon to scripture and the lower key of Solomon to describe the teachings and philosophies of demons, god and why the war of good and evil exists. The demonic possession in the chunky films are just horror movie fun and games. But this isn’t that kind of movie.

Coppola's film Dracula Gary Oldman ( Dracula) says to Mina ( Winona Rider) that it is. . . " the green fairy that lives inside the Absinthe gives it its potency." That is no Disney tinker bell fairy. Revealing how demons take possession of someone. Interesting. In Babylon 5: The Lost Tales there was an episode of demon possession or actually fallen angel possession. Fallen Angel tried to escape hus prison on earth by taking possession of a person who worked at the space station. He was hoping a priest would perform exorcism while at space station, thus being free to roam the cosmos again.

@@4hire565 That's just one universe. There's more than one universe. In reality, do you remember reality? God created and gave everything to Lucy before everyone else was created. Just one planet in a universe still in diapers. Anyone that still thinks they can control everything will find out they have no control over anything at all. Only God does and God gave everything to Lucy. First time we ran this experiment everyone perished except for Lucy. Second time everyone died but the Ogdod the firmament. We're at click three. This time God created the lake of fire for everything ungodly unholy unclean. In one universe they might be big then they go into another universe and find out they're just like everyone else. That's called ego. When anyone allows their ego to take over and lose reality, when ego strikes and there's nothing left it tears them apart. Everyone in this earth school experiment is in program bolt. So everything everyone is doing is only harming them and no one else. Being 97 percent chose the lie and received amnesia 97 percent only knows the lie. Everything belongs to God and God's not coming off that throne everyone else is. God decides we obey the ten commandments no matter who or what they are. God gave Satan dominion over every realm timeline and dimension no exceptions. Reality is setting in now. Life review. Everyone sitting back and going over everything they've ever done realizing they're only hurting themselves and no one else. Cheat another person you cheated yourself. The theology in this movie is pretty accurate although I’m not sure on a couple of his points. My wife and I saw it, told her Protestant brother about it but he wouldn’t go near it. He said he wants to watch “uplifting” meaning feel good stuff. That’s probably why he goes to a nondenominational church. The ones with an auditorium, a concert and a Ted talk. As a Catholic we have an answer for evil and the power to overcome it whereas non Catholics don’t. So they choose either unbelief or avoidance.

What I loved about this movie was that it was less about demons and more about us and the reality that we’ve anointed ourselves as god. The central thesis for me happens when James, the proud atheist tries to hold up the West’s tolerant attitudes as the pinnacle of morality, as if man has not only surpassed the idea of a god, any god really, but surpassed Him. As if ending racism and accepting homosexuality are the ultimate moral achievements ….and then the demon or actually any half decent apologist for that matter could, demolish the hypocritical, wafer-thin edifice that people erect to make themselves feel like moral people. This to me is what this is all about, a rebuke against human hubris and hypocrisy. The brilliance of this script is that you don’t even have to believe in God for it to work. Man is a vain, deluded little beast. We tell each other that we are “good” because we pass hate speech laws but don’t bat an eye lash at using our IPhones which we KNOW were built by ten year olds in a far away country that we don’t see and that is enough for us. It’s sickening.

@eradicate888 No. The part where you're mistaken is you think it's an algorithm doing all this. When I first got the dream from god, I was a full Calvinist.... I had never watched a video about catholicism, didn't know a single catholic, and probably the only exposure I had with the church was the horror movie insidious. That movie doesn't give you a hint of catholicism. Seriously, I was at the bottom of my rope. My life was falling apart and I called out to God for help. That night I had a dream of the catholic church through history and then a priest and he was showing me things with a huge smile on his face. I won't up thinking I was nuts. My goal to get myself right with god didn't even start with the obsession for catholicism. I had already lost one of the 5 points of calvinism at that point when the dream occurred. The next day I tried to shrug it off and all I did was look up the reformation. The 95 thesis, Calvin's 5 points, zwinglis views on communion, Luther's views on justification, but they all kept leading me to side with the catholic rather than a specific reformer. Eventually I said what the heck, can't hurt to look and see what these catholics say for themselves. I went to catholic answers primarily. Their youtube channel has a playlist that contains short videos covering hundreds of topics. Then extensive articles with typical protestant rebuttals to the catholic position and the answers to those objections. I wasnt fed anything that I didn't go looking for. I promise you the catholic stuff didn't get into my feed without me putting it there.

Divine: of, from, or like God or a god. Synonyms are angelic, godlike, celestial. Divine does not exclusively mean "holy". Demons originated from angels in heaven. Now, God cannot undue that prophecy because God is perfect and God keeps His promise; so to alter the course of history would be God admitting that He isn't perfect; which would completely disprove God's existence as the omniscient and omnipresent ultimate benevolence. This was "God's Not Dead" with better writing. About halfway through, it can't keep the mask on and it shows itself as the Fundie propaganda it is. Straw men and mischaracterizations abound. Including a complete fabrication of how the prison system and the electric chair works. God help us, by the end they even throw Glenn Beck in for good measure. But without the menthol oil he used to make himself cry on demand. Some of the clips are pretty cool, but it's a complete eye roll if you watch the whole thing through. Just my opinion. Baptizing a baby does nothing. Never happened a single time in the Bible. In the Bible it only happens as part of the response to hearing and deciding to obey the gospel.
@tarmbruster1
@tarmbruster1 Жыл бұрын
Baptism is the Christian equivalent of circumcision, or “the circumcision of Christ”: “In him you were also circumcised with . . . the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead” (Col. 2:11-12). Thus, like circumcision, baptism can be given to children as well as adults. The difference is that circumcision was powerless to save (Gal. 5:6, 6:15), but “[b]aptism . . . now saves you” (1 Pet. 3:21).
@Rio_Seco
@Rio_Seco Жыл бұрын
@@tarmbruster1 Baptism is in no way the "equivalent" of circumcision. Not in any way, especially not in function. Baptizing a baby is no different then standing by the fence at the local pool, and uttering a baptism every time a person jumps off the diving board. The early Christians understood this, which is why they did not baptize babies. Not ever. Show me anywhere in the NT were a baby was baptized. Every biblical example we have is of people hearing the word, believing, repenting, and only then being baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).

@@TheWolfDude91 Baptism is purely symbolic, nothing more, just as the breaking bread or drinking of wine, or any number of the cultural traditions the Hebrews, Arabs, and frankly all of the other cultural religious practices of the world that have no inherent meaning other than what they symbolically refer to.. . Baptism (as in water) is a rehearsal of what the Son of Man Himself did for our sake, so that we could make sense of His parables regarding the process of cleansing sin. It does nothing to actually morally cleanse or safeguard the soul of a person, only God can do that, and just as speaking aloud a string of words as those reciting a spell has no real power without the soulful, heartfelt will that God fulfill them, so too does the act of baptism have no real significance beyond the symbolic nature of the act.

It's certainly not terribly inspired filmmaking (aside from grounding demonic possession instead of making it the cringe Exorcist-style overtly ghastly behavior) , but the actual "sermon" as you put it is fascinating, if only because it gives an alternate view into what many consider to be a cut-and-dry psychological process of determining someone's insanity or lack of agency in their actions. Is it possible there is "something else" nudging people slightly to go beyond their normal moral limits, or are 'some' people just that innately awful. Either way, it should be demoralizing to consider that you are on your own in this life, and that good and evil are ultimately just determined by pragmatism and at times, the highest bidder in society (the ones who set the "rules", usually the State). At least if there really are devils, there are angels (or even a God) too, forces for evil and good that both compete for our souls, which makes you individually more valuable than a single tiny blip in the grand scheme of things.
