How Detailed Can I Paint on a Knitted Sweater? ( I AM SHOCKED)

In this video I will challenge myself again! I will try to create complicated and detailed artwork on a knitted sweater. Knitted fabric is not very easy fabric for painting, but still it's possible to paint on it and customize knitted sweaters. But I want to see the possibilities of painting on a knitted clothes, how complicated and detailed artwork on such clothes can be . So I will paint on a sweater statue of angel! And also I will give you some tips on how to choose fabric paint for sweater and how to paint on such not basic fabric as knitted fabric.

Hi I’m Jo Ann and new to your channel. I have been interested in painting on fabric for almost a year now, but did not like some of the results I was getting. After watching your videos I’m coming to the understanding of the importance of adding water to the paint. Today I was able to paint a face and have more control over where the shading was added. Thank you for demonstrating the effects of paint on knit and sharing your discovery of how to let the fabric be part of your lovely artwork.

That is so pretty. I love the design and it surprised me that you could paint like that on knitted material. Very cool you have out done yourself Daria. You have definitely taught me something new today and to challenge myself also. It may turn out to be a pleasant surprise and not a disaster. I’d really love to know how the art work lasted through washes and just overall stretch from a knitted fabric. That’s what I’m most concerned with, that the paint will crumble when the fabric is stretched.

well this sweater has an oversized fit so it won't be streached much. But if you want to paint on a fitted knitted clothes I would recommend to use minimum amount of paint - max 2 layers and the thinner layers the better. Because thick layer of paint on a very strechy fabric will crack for sure
