Carol has the most delightful accent I've ever heard on a British person, just heart-melting

I'm curious about her accent. Carol is apparently Scottish, but as an American, she doesn't sound like what I've heard other Scots sound like. Susan Calman is also Scottish, but they obviously sound nothing alike. Is Carol's accent an actual Scottish accent that I, as an American, would be unfamiliar with? Or is her accent an intentional affectation, like Gordon Ramsay?

@@billyeveryteen7328 Carol and Susan do clearly sound somewhat similar, as someone from the UK they're both clearly scottish just carol's is a softer accent

@@joegrayston3779 As an American, it's bewildering to me that a comparatively small country (compared to the US, at least) can have such a vast array of accents. Great Britain is, in area, roughly half the size of California alone, but in California, not accounting for "ethnic" accents (ie the accents of people who learned English as a second language and have the accent of their native tongue), everyone sounds largely the same.

@@billyeveryteen7328it’s because it’s where the language originated. People have been speaking English and its ancestors in Britain for over 1500 years. It only arrived in North America a little over 400 years ago. A lot more time to develop linguistic diversity, even in a small area.

I only know Carol Kirkwood from this program. In fact, I only know her from this episode. She seems like a really charming, enchanting woman.

British people get me everytime with something like this. I hear pie and think apple, cherry, maybe mincemeat and then they hit you with steak and kidney.
