I always bring up the quote (it's one or two years old now), from a former Swedish prime minister. He was asked by a Danish journalist what Denmark should do, to make sure we avoid the problems Sweden is facing (though, in reality, that likely won't happen, since Denmark took a far harsher stance on immigration almost a decade earlier). The reply the journalist got was: *"Save yourselves, blow up the bridge."* He's referring to the Øresund bridge which connects Denmark to Sweden.

@blackrook268

There are plenty of people who don't necessarily hate the country however they also don't agree with their new countries' values either. This will, regardless of ill intent or not, will create a divide and lead to conflict. For a community to succeed they have to share some form of value. America did it by offering "The American Dream" a shared value of being able to become successful by simply integrating properly and obeying the laws. However even in America that idea has mostly died in the current day large cities. With no other shared value the crime rate spiked because those without the means to succeed were left to fend for themselves as politicians became greedy and turned a blind eye and the police became to fearful to enter such communities. The social experiments have been conducted, we see the results, to successfully meld a group of people you need to strictly enforce laws, with true punishments, and share some common value. Otherwise it will ALWAYS lead to the "strong" taking what they want while the rest suffer as a consequence.

@@alejandro9581 "an American take" lmfao. The American take is to open your borders and call people who are against it closed minded. The American take is global homogeneity, carpet bombing "democracy" everywhere. Look at any country outside of Europe and America (White countries) and ask yourself what their immigration policies are. Would their citizens be happy being edged out of their own countries by foreigners who look, speak, pray and act differently than them? The answer is obvious. There's a reason Japan has been such a stable country ever since America nuked it into the stone age and the envy of every other nation on Earth. They care first and foremost for their own. Call it racist, but since you mentioned reality, THAT is reality.

Humans are the same everywhere else, greedy, lustful and violent, what makes these people think their different? When countries and people (Western) try to make their image better and trying hard to have higher moral ground than the rest, this sh*t smacked in their faces as a reality check. We could be better and good but people still have to realize that as long as we have emotions and a mind of our own, we're capable of evil and heinous things. That's why laws should be there to make things a little bit better. Alas, people with money and power can bend the law to their advantage, proving that no matter how much rich and powerful people are, they're still more like animals than humans compared to the rest of the population.

It was quite ridiculous completely ignoring the real reason why majority of gang members are immigrants which is simply because they have connections in their home countries which they can use to smuggle drugs into Sweden! For this is exact reason immigrants coming from more orderly countries do not operate gangs as they don't have gangs operating in their home countries which can provide them drugs. So the picture is a lot larger than a Swedish problem rather it is whole worn-torn middle east and underdeveloped eastern Europe problem. For example Turkey seizes more heroin than ENTIRE Europe combined every year and actively fighting against both Turkish and Kurdish gangs as their income often end up in Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan fueling terrrorist organizations and their drug production activities. On the other hand check how much drugs Greece, Bulgaria, Romania etc seized in last years, spoiler alert ''no data avaiable'' for most of them!! Europe needs to take much tougher stance against drugs which is the real thing fueling gang activity not immigration at all..

According to the police report 2023, lethal crimes like murder, manslaughter, mayhem and rape are historical high. Same with the statistics about crimes caused by foreigners towards German citizens. There is even a classification word for north africans who are committing multiple crimes and ressistant to rehabilitation. There are no hand granade throwings or weapon mayhems running through street like in sweden, that is true. But it is common, that crime family wars are played on the street nowadays. A good example is the fighting between the newcomer criminals from syria vs already established libanese crime families in the city of essen. Or the constant fightings between palestinian crime families and libanese crime families in Berlin and so on. It would be really interesting, if you could make a video about this topic please. With such small numbers, using percentages makes things seem WAY worse than they are. In the US, states like Utah, Idaho, Montana and a few other nearby states used to have no gangs. The cities tended to be small with lots and lots of wilderness. Big families and family values were higher than in big cities. So people who had kids "running with a bad crowd" would send them to live with Auntie etc in these small places. Often these kids weren't "big fish" where they were but in a small town they were "uber tough". So they'd share what they knew and eventually the gang "affiliation" developed. Kids from big cities moved to these places for other reasons (parents new job, marriage, divorce etc) So, when I got a job working with teens in an "at risk gang/drug program i was quite shocked when I saw these "homie gangstas" who were pale, freckled kids when I expected to see "bros" As said in the introduction Sweden as well as neighboring countries have a 'reputation' for being one of the best places in the world to live. So people with problems head there hoping some of the "happy living" rubs off. But a transfer of ANY KIND usually goes both ways. The people coming are looking for happiness but they bring a lot of bad luggage with them😢

If they are fanatics well there is nothing need be said. Progresive ones already wouldn't cause problems. It is just problematic because they see west as inherntly the reason for most of their problems. It is like americans and mexicans. Mexicans don't like americans because the mexican war totaled the country, then you have mexican criminals causing problems and saying that they are a noble orginaztion. Even ordinary mexicans would be pissed a bit. Imagine if there was fanatics that actively caused problems then imagine mexico to completely fail resulting in mexican imigration to usa.

Having grown up as an immigrant in the haven of peace that was Malmõ in the 1970´s (now one of the most crime-ridden cities in Sweden), this is unbelievable...I visited Sweden and Malmõ a few times after moving back to my native Portugal, last time some 4-5 years ago and surely, you could see a lot of signs that things were not the same (both positive and negative, mind you), but I´d never expect it to get anything near this level. Never thought living in Lisbon would be much, much safer than in the quaint, paroquial Malmõ of my childhood. I glad that at least there, there are some positive signs. Sweden's lack of a war in recent centuries also meant its services cannot operate in an emergency. The sinking of the ferry 'Estonia' in the mid-1990s was one such: 100s of those in life rafts died, not because of drowning but because the winches on the rescue helicopters were so little used they rusted up - and these had to return to base. By the time they returned to the site - nearly all had died of hypothermia.

And I get called a racist for just mentioning immigration, foreigners or agreeing with anything SD (it's a party) says. Just because I happen to agree with one out of a hundred does not make me a racist or one of them. That's like calling me a nazi for liking the idea of putting my country and my people first. I mean, I gave up on my country a long time ago and even moved to an isolated island to avoid people and whilst I realise that people like me contribute to the problem by just trying to sleep through it all, I just cannot see a solution. I have always said, make the legal alternative easier for expats so you get people who are actually contributing to the community and society and pull their own weight as opposed to letting floods of illegal migrants to come in and then you have to look after them because you don’t allow them to work My dad brought us to the UK as his dependents when he applied for his PhD at Imperial College back in 2013. We are still EXTREMELY proud of being a strict Muslim and have not lost touch with our culture or mother tongue. But we are also an active part of the native community, we speak the language fluently amongst other languages, we peacefully coexist with almost any other group, every member of my family either works, or studies or both. Now this was NEARLY impossible and it cost a LOT of money (over 1 million dollars in the last 11 years) and we are still not British citizens. which is why I can see illegal immigration being the favourable option as those people get a house, passport, income and don’t even need to learn the language and everything is subsidised. Fix your system to make it easier for legal expats and you will see the fruits of your labour

Of course they saw it coming. That's what they intended to do all along. When chaos reigns, the people are willing to hand over their rights to the government. The problem is in Norway too, not like in Sweden, but it's getting worse and worse. With lax laws, less and less police and funding over a long period. The police pick up kids and drive them to their parents, and if you are under 18 you will seldom, or never, get any punishment except sometimes community service when 16 and older. The police has warned the government about this since the '90s without results

I met a Swedish woman in 2012 and had a romance... She lived in the district of Husby in Stockholm. So that Christmas I went to stay with her. She described her suburb as 'Refreshingly Multicultural'. During my stay in her 6th floor flat, there was an armed attack on a cinema, constant police-car sirens, and to top it all - an armed attack on a shopping center by Somalis! There was gunfire and helicopters overhead, and she told me to lie on the floor in case of flying bullets, and crazily said, "Fun, isn't it"? I was glad to fly back to Manchester!

I suggest Sweden implement the "Islas Marias" solution used by Mexico. The offenders could be sent to a Swedish island and serve out their sentences there, and then offered the opportunity to return to their country of origin, or remain on the island as un-incarcerated inhabitants. Some employment could be made available, such as making crafts, weaving hammocks, perhaps fishing and smoking their catches, etc. which could be sold on the mainland so that they could purchase things they felt they wanted. On the Islas some prisoners even had their families living with them.

Sweden are just lagging behind with their ancient laws on drugs. Outdated laws from the USA that give room and economy for criminal gangs. It's been going on since the war on drugs where introduced back in the 70s. In Norway we had a peak in crimes like this in the 80s, when heroin was crazy expensive, and the drug criminals on top was rich white people. Immigration actually has made it much better, because the prices on drugs has dropped to 1/5 of what it was when the markets where run by Norwegian capitalists, meaning most people dont need to do loads of small scale crime on a daily basis to buy the drugs they need..

Interesting how none of the solutions discussed include more funding for schools or community support, or resources for families to move away from urban areas. Moving from major urban centers means leaving their cultural group, if that group has brought the toxicity they moved to escape with them. It's not the ultimate solution but it gives a route to keep more people from joining the gangs. Look at the Sicilian communities in the US a century ago, and who all is still in the Mafia circles, and who, like my family, completely cut ties and settled down because they could leave the city.

The problem is not that we don't help them to integrate. An enormous amount of our taxes goes to the integration infrastructure - free living costs and apartments, education and language courses, jobb programs, social programs. Our entire society has been translated, and even the public service tv is now produced in this dumbed down "simple Swedish" in addition to the native language of every possible minority group. If anything we help them too much. The problem is the large number of people who don't want to integrate, who actively target Sweden knowing that here they can get high living standards for free, unconditionally. Our people built this welfare system during many generations to help the poor and homeless, it is now being exploited by people with no connection and no will to give anything back to the country that took them in with open arms. This is welfare tourism, and the result has been a rapid drop in the standards of everything, our country's economic and technical competitiveness, our education system, hospitals, dentists, housing queues ... and as made very obvious for years now: our public safety.
@Steadyaim101
@Steadyaim101 5 ай бұрын
I like that word, welfare tourism. It seems like nearly every Western country is experiencing that now. For example, I live in a small city in Canada that was notable for having the lowest crime rate in an already low crime rate country. Over the last 5 years, the federal government started using our city as a convenient place to house asylum seekers and refugees because of our relatively low housing costs. The results? Crime has increased nearly 700% in 5 years, and entire neighbourhoods need to be avoided now. You see weird shit like people roasting mystery meat over oil drum fires, and no one knows why the rate of missing pet reports has nearly tripled..... but only in low-income neighbourhoods lol. I don't take my kids to the park anymore, because they started finding needles and people squatting in the bushes. Its terrible! Why has our own government done this to us? And if you dare speak about the elephant in the room that every piece of evidence indicates its East-African refugees behind nearly every social ill we've had, you get labelled a racist which in Canada, can be an actual felony crime... But from the perspective of the refugees, their life here is absolutely amazing. No work, physical safety, all the money they could want, free housing, education. It's a paradise for them paid for by the people whose homes they've ruined.

Swedish master of laws here, some notes: 1. The (rapidly changing) legal system of old has been operating under the social democratic view of people being a product of the environment. In a high trust and homogeneous society, this has worked somewhat well. The problem isn't the system, but the rapidly changes in society. It can't keep up. 1.2 Mass migration from foreign cultures is the main problem. 2. It's ludacris to blame gang violence and disenfranchisement on failing social services such as schools and housing. On paper we have the best integration on the planet, due to the massive amounts of money we spend on such projects. Migrants are given extremely generous benefits, housing that I myself cannot afford, and access to the most well funded social safety net in the developed world, yet most do not use these tools nor contribute to them. 2.1 Mass migration from foreign cultures is the main problem. 3. The comparison to migration in Germany is flawed since it does not account for per capita migration and the problems the germans themselves are seeing. 3.1 Mass migration from foreign cultures is the main problem. 4. "Harsh labour laws" has nothing to do with unemployment among immigrants. Sweden has a high skill economy where a high school diploma, or the lack of one, wont get you far. Especially on a mass demographic dimention. People with low, or no, education have a very limited place in the swedish labour market. 4.1 Mass migration from foreign cultures is the main problem. 5. The decreas in gang activity in Malmö following the outreach campain have nothing to do with the campain itself. It coincides with the french police cracking encro chat. 5.1 Mass migration from foreign cultures is the main problem.

The ukrainians are trying to live on these "generous" benefits right now, and they're still much lower than people imagine them.

@@baster4599 You could send cartel leaders you have back, and hope the judicial system in Mexico does something useful.

@@Michelle-rdz17 Right now, you want them extradited to the USA because you don't entirely trust the mexican judicial system. The cartel heads are just fine remaining outside the reach of the US federal government.

There are two things to add to the comparison with Czechia. Out of the 5% foreigners, a fifth are Slovakians (extremely close to Czechs, similar to USA x Canada). Also recently those numbers rose sharply because of the Ukraine war, however, while about 500k refugees moved there (an additional 5%!) they are overwhelmingly females and young children who are much less likely to increase violent crime.

I mean we saw what Seattle turned into, LA, Portland, New York, San Fran, the difference is the culture in America stoked the perpetuation of these systematic issues that come with a lack of Police funding and crime punishment, a lot fast but these issues in Norther Europe have been a long time coming.
