Prostitution is legalized in Hong Kong too. Geylang is similar to Portland Street, but more regulated. Where I reside when I am in Singapore, food is available almost 24/7.

新加坡每区几乎都有个24小时咖啡店，如肯跑远点选择更多。我不信你一个人的时候在牙笼没去short time. 我以前带过我单位的童子鸡去逛芽笼，第一次去通常他们还能忍，第二趟去就“bro,wait for me”

Haha this video remind me 27 years ago when I visit my wife family , I use to stay in 雅兰酒店 at Nathan Road . After sending my wife back her HK home I will walk around that area till 3-4am and of course buy a copy of apple daily 😊

There used to be many places to eat at night, but the government prohibited the sale of alcohol after 10pm since the riot by drunk foreign workers years ago.

Normally, you can get a local tour guide to walk around geylang area. Of course, there are other guides who specialise in certain districts. Tourists will definitely learn some history.

no, u can chew chewing gum in spore but not buy n sell. n u better dispose properly. other littering may fine 300 sgd but chewing gum at max 1k😅

Geylang has been cleaned up a lot compared to years ago. I would say to the extend of losing some of its original character. Still a places for foodies though, and nothing more. Back then the streets were lined up with "working women". Now only the legal brothels are left. It's safer now and more family friendly. Everything is more discreet. Unlike the past when it's more in your face.

In the old days, yes it is a notorious area. Now, I must say it is quite safe. Avoid late night in those KTV joints area, can be a bit messy 🤣 By and large, it is quite safe

A well-managed and -regulated city, like Singapore, is closely correlated to its town/city planning; for me, it has not been so strange that there are many simialr issues in Singapore, for example those buildings' appearance/outlook.
