It could also be inheirited wealth. Carly had her great-grandmother's watch which was worth $82,000. We don't know what else was left to the Shays or even what side of the family it's from. Since we never hear about Carly's mom, it could just be money they inheirited from her side of the family after she died (assuming she is, in fact, dead).

Many of Spencer's clients are surprisingly wealthy and pay big money for his art. Not to mention he gets most of his art supplies from the junkyard, saving money, other times his clients give him the supplies, like the giant pumpkin. It's also mentioned in the ten years since the show ended, he's been selling sculptor that have sold for millions, like the melted White House made of marshmallows.

As an undiscovered artist, I can confirm this is true, Spencer is rich! In the show, Spencer's creativity was something that I always thought was very impressive, and I always wondered why does nobody else appreciate his outstanding artwork.

After he dropped out of law school, he paid them back with college refunds and tax returns. While doing so, his dad was sending him money and he used it to buy art supplies to make art and used them for his exhibits, which he gets paid a lot of money for the apartment. I think that's it.

I looked it up and if your in the Air Force (carly and Spencer's dad) there is 4 different ways you get paid and there is annual salary and monthly the top earners get $125,000, 75th percentile 84,000,average 67,522,and 25th percentile $33,000 and maybe they get more money from that dimond incrested watch or was that all spent on Carlys room

In the beginning of the new season of Icarly , Carly explained the reason why spencer became so rich was because one of his sculptures hit it off and he made high amounts of money on it. After that everyone started discovering who he was and he started making high profit off of it.

He probably got rich off of selling all that art & sculptures that we only see in one episode each. And with Carly going to italy he probably spent more time on more creative sculptures making enough money to renovate his apartment

Maybe it's all of the above. Like Spencer uses the money his dad sends them to pay the rent and then whenever he sells one of his sculptures he gets lots of money for it. And after the webshow became more and more popular carly started making extra money too.
