@@caleberickson_The_Dying_Breed Totally different tho. Hoof GP’s got a machine to do the heavy lifting. He doesn’t have to bend over all day. You really have a physical job bending over those hoofs every day, holding that hoof up, cutting, rasping. Hope you make big bucks like GP from social media. 🇺🇸

I once had a cob come to the UK from Ireland. Very nice bay mare. Her feet were so long but had maintained all four shoes, when she moved her shoes didn’t clink they kerflopped! No one was interested in her because of her feet. The farrier trimmed one hook leaving the shoe still on. Once trimmed and reshot, I clipped her fully and hogged (roached) her mane. She was a different horse. Sold her to someone who had previously turned her down, for three times the money. She went on to compete in cob show classes and take many major wins.

If you get a burn again, get some local blossom honey from a keeper and add to a dressing. The wrap for 24 hours and change, repeat the honey. You don’t need loads, half a teaspoon will do. Now the honey will do a number of things but one is help healing swiftly and keep the wound bed healthy for epithial cells to form islands and migrate to close the wound. It’s really good for burns and inflammation in wounds. My old life tissue viability was part of my job and wound care. Honey, normally manuka honey works best, heals wounds! Anyway love the channel

wow, i've watched a fair few hoof trimming videos, and never seen nails break off in the hoof! i bet that horse feels a lot better now. as for the new logo, while it's fine artistically, i can't see that it makes any sense as a logo for hoof trimming. nothing about it really implies that there's anything to do with horses, and "dying breed" with a smoking skeleton doesn't give hope that the animals are going to be better off at the end of the video. judging by the logo, i'd assume it was for an alcohol or tobacco company based in the southern us. it may be great for the podcast; i don't listen to them, so i have no idea what branding is like for them. it might be better to have separate branding for the two things, though. (yes, the skeleton is dressed as a cowboy, but i think to many people, that's an outfit that has an association with country more than horses specifically.) regardless, i hope you have fun with the podcast, and do what makes you happy!

Someone here said you have to apologize for having workingman’s hands. Who says that? ? If you’re trying to be a rich, society person - maybe then you’d want soft hands, you don’t even have to clean your dishes! So many people work with their hands - farmers, crafters, builders, house cleaners, ranchers, gardeners, scientists, veterinarians, sculptors, mechanics, woodworkers, firefighters, painters. . . Even musicians’ fingers and hands use the muscles differently and their hands show this. Working man’s hands are beautiful. B&W photos of them can be a work of art. Have a great day! :)💙🌷🌱

With your comment on which side of the hoof to rasp first - would the same rule apply to a left hand dominant farrier? Obviously both hands are vital to this work, but I can’t help but wonder. Wild horses definitely don't live nearly as long as ones properly maintained domestic ones. Wild horses used to run enough that their hoofs never got too long. Domestic horses have easy access to food and water and don't have to worry about predators so they don't have to travel as much as their ancestors did. Combine that with them not having as much room to run around makes them need trimmed regularly. If they are used for riding or other work, then they require shoes so their hoofs don't wear down too fast as well as give them extra traction.

I like the direction the podcast is trying to head towards, but the rebranding is a bit off. The logo is confusing, had i not known any better i'd have thought it was the logo to a gambling/smoking related channel. And the name is really incongruent to the message you're trying to promote. I hear "dying breed" coming from a farrier channel and i think of horse breeds that are dying out, not the farriers jobs. Just where my brain went, so thought i'd share in case it's helpful (probably isn't but you did ask lol). Maybe keep your name + farrier as the most prominent thing, with a tag line of farriers dying breed etc etc afterwards. Would help people know the deal from the jump. Whichever way it goes, i wish you the best of luck with it
