I've always wanted to live in Florida, my OH is a pilot, I watched on the edge of my seat and nearly lost it by fingerprints in Chicago 😂 This journey was epic....not for my nerves!!! Great vlog x

This was so interesting , we love Florida and have visited almost every year for the last 35 years , we also lived in the Middle East for 15 years with my husband’s work . We are retired now and still adore going to Florida , I have so enjoyed watching your videos ,you are a natural in front of the camera ! X

So interesting to hear your process, I spent many hours researching the process years ago!! (Didn’t happen for us then!) it is a very long, stressful and expensive process. So happy you made it there!! 🇺🇸 I love the fact my daughter is now a cast member at WDW. 🐭

I was just fascinated by your story and my one question is, at any one time did you get cranky and disgruntled by the process, thinking is this really worth it? Thank you that's a lovely thing for you to say :) Yes we did get disgruntled with the process a few times, mostly when there was no communication whatsoever and you just have to hope something is happening. Towards the end we knew we couldn't change our mind about moving here as we felt we had worked really hard to get the visa. Thank you for watching xx

Thankyou Katie, that was so interesting………I had US visas for my flying career but it was relatively easy, I think you need nerves of steel to go through what you went through…..but it’s all worth it now

Hi there , Just in case u need to visit the US embassy in the UK anytime in the future as well as London u can go to Edinburgh close to the Holyrood house ( the Scottish Parliament). Thx 4 taking the time 2 explain ur stressful journey All the best going forward. Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍

Really Interesting Katie, but what a long drawn out and expensive process. It would be interesting to know how you went about finding a school for your daughter and finding and financing medical care, knowing how to get a Dr and dentist

With you on that one Bazza - biometric nightmare memories more like. Great explanation. It may not seem like it Katie but your Green Cards came through quickly - well done. Although it seems that the processing time periods fluctuate from year to year. We were about 5 months before we had the interview and if memory serves it was a further 2 months before we got our physical cards. Gillian

Thank you for explaining this process. We own a second home in Florida(we are based in The Netherlands), but don’t own a visa or green card. Looked to the visa process a little bit to extend our stays. In the future we would like to apply.

If I understand correctly, your journey was for a work visa EB1 or EB2? That would be important to mention that from the get-go. The journey is so different if it's through a work visa than a k-1 which is by marrying a US citizen. Every visa has its own journey. The site you mentioned is very helpful as well as USCIS website which is the direct immigration government site. It has all the forms you need as well as the ability to register and follow your case directly online. It usually gives a timeline of how long you will wait. This is a give or take, sometimes it goes very quickly, but it can take a long time as well. Congrats!! Hope you enjoy your time in Florida!!

Yes it was EB2 NIW visa which was obtained before we got a job offer so slightly different to a work visa. There is so many different ones and when I looked into them before I filmed the vlog I just thought it was best not to go into them as its too complicated. We didn't find the app give much info unless there was an update but the forum just helped me for comfort knowing others were waiting as long :) thanks so much for watching, I really appreciate it xx

Hi Katie thanks for vlogs , could I ask some questions please?My husband and I have got our L1and L2 visa after huffing and puffing for 2 years, through his work,we aiming on moving October from UK but I am very nervous we are in our 50s and have family here,how are you finding it,we also are looking at Orlando ,was it easy to find a rental and did you get it before the move or after?

Hi. You should defo do it, it’s all an experience and family will visit and you visit them. We’ve been expats for 10 years now and as a family we make it work. We were lucky with the rental as it was a family friend and their villa was available when we needed it. Not sure how it would work if you had to sign a proper rental agreement as unless you have credit here then I’ve heard you have to pay upfront. We found the whole credit thing difficult in the beginning, just setting things up x

How unbelievable it can take seven months to transfer papers from one office to another 😮. I mean that’s just madness. The whole process could probably be done in a matter of weeks. You wonder if it’s backlogs or something. Glad you had a happy outcome 😊.
