render farms are the solution. its like if u have 100 frames to render and each takes a day so get 100 computers and give each one frame and u will have 100 frames in one day

I'm glad great big companies like Disney are investing in these type of technologies always striving for the best, hiring these people that make an effort to always better their job and the end result. It's inspiring. You really can't imagine the amount of technology that goes into the animated movies, but the end result just keeps getting better and better along with good stories and plot lines, really, investment in progress is beautiful.

I don't know why but the water effects in Moana always rubbed me the wrong way. The ocean and water LOOKED nice but when it came to the actual physics it always appeared a little to "gel like". I've seen other movies achieve the physics more accurately so I'm not sure if there were time constraints or this is really what they were going for.

Yes they are, they're great for particle simulations, but you don't need to simulate every single force for something like this. If you wanted to simulate water as exact as possible, down to the molecular forces, you would use a quantum computer (but it will take a while

quantum computers are not used to compute stuff like this. They are only “guessing” machines and will work VERY slow if a workload like this is applied to them- compared to conventional computers.
