I'm studying to become an actor: I'm attending two drama clubs and I've started in three plays, one documentary and I'm about to star in a school television show on Wednesday. I'm hoping to go to Guildhall, get an agent, do acting and earn some money then move to America. Wish me luck! And good luck to those who also want to be actors!

Mann becoming an actor would be so amazing 😉. Doing it because you like it, earning lots of money, enjoying life, and traveling around to most places only other people could dream of 🤩. Those are my reasons that I want to be an actor as well. I’m so lucky that I have a member of the family(my aunt) who’s been in the arts her whole life. She’s opened my eyes to more things than just video games and electronics by introducing me to acting at such a young age. She inspires me to go out there and try my best if this is the career I want to pursue!

here is the real deal let's say you are a Actor you. look in a magazine. or get a agent or manager on a meet and greet and they feild a offer for you you go for an audition if you get it you will be notified by your representative now you are booked for the part you will sign a contract that contains the following all madia then added to that your rate what you be making per episode 500$ 1000$ and so on you will fill out your 1040 as well uncle Sam also in your contact if you get residuals it. to depend on the amount you get when the series is cancelled

You only hinted here and there at the answer. When a big name makes tens of millions of dollars what the public is trying to understand is the revenue streams and fees for the actor. Yeah, a producer who owns a part of the film gets money from the box office receipts, streaming and TV rights. But how do actors get paid? 1) Performance salary 2) Salary for promoting the film at press junkets and film festivals, late night talk shows etc. 3) Residuals for each time a performance is aired on TV/streaming services etc. 4) The back end. But what are points and the back end? The public assumes if an actor signs a contract to appear in a film/TV project they get a performance salary, but they also think as that box office total grows and streaming services pay for the rights the actors continue to rake it in. That's not necessarily true. Often an actor collects their performance salary and makes some bucks promoting the film then walks away. They are done with it and won't see much money afterwards even if it becomes huge. Yeah you have some leverage to renegotiate if the distributor needs you to speak positively about the film much later in the future. A studio might want to work with you again. They can top up what you made on the previous project or pay a higher salary for the next gig. We haven't talked about absorbing losses when a film tanks. Yeah take the ACTRA scale rate then insist on big points for the back end. If it tanks you make shite. In your next gig to you offer back some of your salary when you take a big salary and it tanks?
