I’ll always remember that my cat accidentally scratched my brothers foot while running by him and it caused him to bleed a lot. And he was really young so he started crying, and the entire time we were patching him up she was following him around and trying to comfort him with all kinds of trills and purrs and headbutts to apologize for hurting him

I was very busy for about a week and didn’t have time to chase the girl around the backyard. She stopped sleeping in the bed with me, each time I tried petting her she’d pretend to bathe. Then I spent time with her outside and she’s back in the bed. Outdoor play really means a lot to her. I had no idea.

I had a cat who was mad at me. I caught him pooping on the couch, so I splashed him with water. He retaliated by dragging my clothes into his litter box. I found him hiding under my bed. I told him I was sorry and that I wouldn't splash him with water again. He came out and let me pet him. He didn't poop on the couch again.

My cat once vomited on my bed (any by extension, my arm, which she was using as a pillow). So for at least 3 months after I forgave her, she *absolutely refused* to get on my bed, even rushing off from there when I tried to place her on there and attempt to comfort her. So then one night she slept near by bed, closer and closer for a week, until 1 night she wakes me up at 2 in the morning, cautiously meows at me for 5 minutes straight, then hops on the bed, tilts her head, and nuzzled me. I nuzzled her back to show her that yes, I have forgiven her, and that yes, she is free to get on my bed anytime she wants. To this day, she still sleeps on my bed when she can

If he gets in trouble he gives me a sad look and comes over on my lap for a cuddle and gives kisses, gives some little mews too. Its so obvious hes apologizing, it just goes to show yo how smart cats are and how much they understand.

As a vet tech, sometimes I need to do things to cats that they really don't like, and yes, this does lead to having to scruff or manhandle fear aggressive cats. But there are a lot of times when after wrestling with an angry cat and putting them back into a cage, they'll turn around and slow blink at you. Most of my coworkers don't notice or believe me, but I do think it's their way of saying 'You scared me and I fought back, but now that it stopped I don't want to have to fight you.' It's sad that usually I will have to breach their boundaries again for their own good and they'll get angry and fight me again, but I think it's nice that cats can be so forgiving.

Find it fascinating how cats change emotional gears so quickly. Have two senior brothers & sisters (from two different sets of parents). Can go from contently licking one another to full on brawl in a nanosecond. 5 minutes later all is forgotten (& best friends again..) :-P.

One day last year one of my youngest cats got super worked up and bit me and cuddled with me that night while my mom, my grandma, and I were watching one of the most recent Halloween movies as an apology. Once, when my cat ran out the door, and almost through the gate into busy traffic, I managed to grab a tail and a leg, just in time. He scratched and bit me quite painfully, and I let him go, and cringing from the pain, I looked over at him sitting on the windowsill. He looked very unhappy that he had to hurt me to make me let go. I said some encouraging words to him, and invited him back into the house.

The cats with the stubby arms and legs are hella cute yet so helpless. Not sure when they started being bred, but don’t see them surviving outside of having a pampered life. It would be almost the equivalent of breeding cats to have no claws.

When I was a young one, I had a rather grumpy old cat that I had addopted after his other owners split, and moved away.
