Pino Palladino studied bass with Joe Hubbard. He was already an extremely good bass player when he met Joe. Joe chronicles how he taught him some things about theory and harmony and how his understanding of what he was playing increased exponentially. Check out the videos on Pino Palladino by Joe Hubbard. All your videos are great and very inspiring. I been playing bass since January but I had play electric guitar since 1991 and I have to say that bass playing is been great for me on this times so basically I play and practice every day. Thanks for all the great videos.

@@OnlineBassCourses In any of your videos I get a lot, because they differ from others by being so open-minded, the price is that sometimes I feel a bit disoriented but that's because of my lack of knowledge. The amazing stuff is that each of your videos range from novice to very advanced!

I’m going to do two. One theory one like the one you suggested. Then one beginners one that gets you up to speed in a number of easy lessons teaching stuff like in this lesson. That one will have VERY clear goals, instructions, and teaching.

Question - if I sign up for your course, how do I use different devices, like computer to print PDF’s and my phone to use while following along with the bass. Thanks

You could print and then follow along with a music stand, read the pdf on your phone whilst watching on computer. The course recognises where you left off and videos usually have the relevant bit of the pdf displayed so you can follow in real time.

If I may ask a somewhat personal question? In the UK do they teach music/music theory as children? Just seems to me through observation only that over the pond you as a nation seem to have a better education on music. Here in the states it used to be taught as children but since the late 1900s education that was based upon giving people actual skills has been removed from the education system. They want non creative idiots occupying America. Not bringing in politics (that was used to add some humor to the truth).

I always thought it was the other way round. It’s not really taught in the UK unless you take lessons or specialise in music in schools. Music is often dropped early, unfortunately.

Good content but could have done with less showing off. The stuff you played doesn't mean squat if you aren't that advanced. Don't get me wrong all are very valid points but I had an instructor who did that and it made me be disengaged caus I wasn't learning anything.

Where's the showing off? Genuine question. I demonstrate concepts but never once did I think I was 'showing off'. I get what you're saying about if you aren't that advanced. But sometimes I think it's good to show what an idea can lead to with practice. Obviously that's my opinion and, of course, you're entitled to yours.

@@OnlineBassCourses Fair enough. I don't think I said it right. Dan I live in NY and I watch your channel religiously and use a lot of your information and techniques. On some of the things I was like umm I have no idea what he is doing and I think I'm a decent player maybe between beginner and intermediate. I was just a little lost so my apologies. Again I love your videos and they have helped me a great deal.

That's no problem and thanks for watching! That's the tricky thing for me: for some people it's too much and for others they might know everything I'm talking about. In general, my videos are exactly for your standard. But I definitely like to push you a little bit! Maybe sometimes it's too much. One day there will be a decent platform for live online workshops/lessons and instant feedback. That would be cool.

I recommended getting a piece of paper out and organising your practice routine. Write down 3-5 goals and the individual lessons you need to get there. Prioritise them and then organise that into a practice routine. You're right, too much all at the same time will just lead to confusion. In fact, I'm writing a course write now designed to be linear with easy to digest lessons and clear assignments.
