We create intimacy in our relationships with people by spending time with, getting to know them, their character, likes, dislikes, etc. So begin seeking God through prayer requesting more intimacy with Him. Prayer builds intimacy because it's fundamentally communication with God. God also communicates mostly with us through His Word and so, through studying the Word, it will come to life, you will see that its no ordinary book because it talks back because God's Word is ultimately himself. There are other ways like journaling, fellowship with believers, serving,all these things build intimacy as long as you are allowing God to lead you. Your spiritual senses will heightened and you will sense that God may want you to fast, to pray for something specific, serve in a particular area, study a particular topic. The avenues are endless, but God must direct them, and intimacy builds from there. Hope this helps.
