Wow, this was great. Share your faith because you love and care about them as a person, be it family or friend. This was so wonderful to hear and learn from.

Wow, this has made me feel so much more confident in being able to speak about Jesus to the people around me... My anxiety is never talking about Jesus but doing irreparable harm to someones perception of Jesus and the gospel through lack of knowledge due to being a fairly new believer. God bless everyone

I think a great point was made about seeing people as people and not projects or marks. That aside, "talking about Jesus" should be centered around proclaiming and articulating the gospel; that is the information they need to have -- the message of the cross.

Please keep sharing videos like this for teens and college students. HELP THE YOUNGER GENERATION! My nephew is in high school, where his classmates. Are into porn, gangs, they cruse/use foul language and act out. Or his classmates have parents that some are christian, catholic, islam or budism etc. Where they practice both christianity and other religions. How do they address this topic, especially in school/college????

A small simple faith in YAHWEH that HE was way bigger than a 9 foot giant? So how big was his faith and how did he get it? By practice. Bear n lion. Lots of big brothers. A believing family . A generation's long lineage. A direct relationship to YAHWEH. That how.

Looking at my friends (who are good people) and knowing that god is going to send them to eternal hell makes me wonder how benevolent god really is.

Jesus Christ Saves thanks I do understand but how can you or anyone else possibly think that eternal torment is just? Even I wouldn’t want to see anyone suffer but apparently god can’t find another way do justice except eternal torment? Why do you think he is okay with eternal torment?
@josephminder7366
@josephminder7366 4 жыл бұрын
Jesus Christ Saves yes I agree that justice is important. You may be familiar with annihilationism Which seems much more practical and just. Hell was an idea lifted out of Greek philosophy and pagan mythology which somehow made its way into mainstream Christianity. Many people say that Jesus didn’t really believe in hell and it is just a real misunderstanding. The punishment for sin is death not eternal suffering. The idea of hell degrades the goodness of god and is an unfortunate retardation of the true meaning. Look at Matthew 18:12-14. Jesus will not let one being go astray and In the end we will all come together as one big family whether you believe it or not. Someone that didn’t believe in Christianity won’t be kept alive in an eternal state of suffering for millions and billions of years all because they didn’t accept a very specific dogma. That is cruel anyway you cut it. And luckily god has enough grace to extend to everyone. Once our egos are cast aside when we die, we realize what we are at our source (fundamentally good because we were made in gods image). I don’t see how someone who was wrapped up in their ego during life should deserve eternal suffering just because they didn’t know better. On the issue of the moral standard of the Bible, the Bible and Jesus both condoned slavery! Which is just wrong. So some of our morals have gone beyond what They were when the Bible was written. That leads me to believe that the true moral standard of god was not actually recorded in the Bible because he would not have condoned slavery. So hell would be an example of that misinformed morality. I have genuine love and compassion for my fellow being period. I will sacrifice to give someone whose homeless a meal and so much more. But I’m going to hell because I don’t accept a very specific dogma? It just doesn’t seem practical. I believe when we die and our egos fall away we will achieve universalism with the creator and we will realize that we are all a big happy family whether we know it in life or not. That view of the world is more positive than the doom and gloom of hell. Wouldn’t god choose the more positive of the two? Like it says in the parable of the lost sheep. Everyone will return to god. Perhaps they have to experience a temporary punishment but in the end we will eventually realize our inner fundamental goodness and connection!

Jesus Christ Saves I agree morality is in our hearts and our ego is just in the way of it. Once we die our ego falls away and we become what we are at our source. I’m sorry that you believe in eternal hell because it is simply not the case. Eternal hell I’d blatantly immoral and we both know it because we both have access to morality. I wouldn’t want to see anyone suffer at all much less for all of eternity. And you think your god would do such a thing? I definitely am aware of the “evil” in the world because it was baked into existence by god himself. The lion inflicts pain and death on its prey. This doesn’t make the lion evil. The lion is a part of nature just like all of us and death and pain and suffering are all a part of nature. They are a part of nature as a whole. All of this “evil” is a part of nature as a whole and god is the wholeness of nature. Like it or not. A magnet has two sides but they are fundamentally linked. The same way with good and bad. I don’t expect you to come to understand the true nature of reality especially on the comment section of KZfaq and especially when your mind is already full of weird dogmas and beliefs. But at the end of the day eternal torment is just not acceptable and god knows it. And god would be disappointed that people like you proliferate this myth of hell and degradate gods fundamentally goodness. Anyway pal It’s a fun discussion to have and this is exactly why we have a variety of opinions in religion because it gives people ideas to play with. Variety is fundamentally to nature and you will find it everywhere. And it’s natural that this variety extends to religion!

When I first got saved again, I would go up to the parsonage to just chat with the preacher. After we got our coffee, I often started the conversation with, "Tell me about Jesus!" It caught him a little off gurad because the subject of "Jesus" is kinda broad. But he pulled it together enough to answer like this: "Aww, Jesus", and he would get a kind of glassy look on his face and then say something or other. It was just an icebreaker so it really didn't matter what he followed up with. We would have pretty in-depth conversations. I was no bible slouch, as I had been saved once before and I knew the New Testament pretty well. He could go as deep as he wanted to. I eventually wound up getting kicked out of that church for believing Romans chapter 8. The men of the congregation didn't believe it and so we had a parting of the ways. Maybe they've since repented. But I'm looking for people with whom I can start a conversation with the words, "Tell me about Jesus", and they aren't intimidated by it.

@Marcos Castillo - Try it. It throws people off. They don't know how to respond. It's a pretty broad subject and people don't know if I'm setting a trap or whatever. Church people are the easiest to volunteer information, opinions, or whatever and the garden variety person just changes the subject.

@Marcos Castillo - I'm glad you asked! When I was growing up, my concept of Jesus was shaped by my very Catholic family. I attended Catholic school and so I had a very Catholic concept of who He was. After I was saved and reading the bible, I was surprised that Jesus wasn't a 1960s hippy, preaching peace and love. He was a tough as nails rabbi on a mission. He was compassionate. He helped people who came to Him in need. The way He helped them often got Him in trouble because it wasn't the right time or the right way. He wasn't real religious. He ate with "unwashen" hands. That kind of thing got Him in trouble a lot. He wasn't above calling a spade a spade. I liked that about Him but it infuriated the religious establishment. I was surprised (when I thought about it) that Jesus didn't have any teachings about His near divine mother. In fact, the gospels don't say all that much about her. I would have thought there would have been at least chapters devoted to her and her teachings. The closest thing we've got is what Luke records. And John includes a cameo of Mary telling people to do as Jesus instructs them. The Jesus I discovered wasn't like the Jesus I'd been taught about in religion class.

@@TheDivineCallingofJesusChrist If they are dying I will save them, I won't die for them, Jesus already did. And I will warn them about the fires of hell, if they don't listen it's not my problem anymore. That's the range of my love. How do you talk to somebody about Jesus when all they think you're trying to do is force Jesus on them? I asked my aunt what she believes in and then when I brought up Jesus she just got all upset and didn't want to answer any questions and I was pretty perplexed. I told her that Jesus was the son of God she says that she believes in Jesus and I was like that's great and then I asked her but you said you believe in all of this spirituality and the Indian stuff and they believe in different stuff so she started talking about spirituality and then I asked well are you Roman Catholic or are you just spiritual? And the whole time she's just like I don't want to talk about Jesus so it was just really weird.. really confusing.

I had to stop going to church because I couldn't take the unbelief. I'd like to do the Lord's Supper with somebody sometime but having to sit and listen to somebody who knows less about God's word than I do and therefore comes to erroneous conclusions, I can't deal with. It would be nice to go to church and just be with God's people without all the churchy stuff. I'm convinced that if you have to pay a person to be a Christian (preacher) then your congregation has Jumped the Shark.
