Yes it will in minutes. Its like shutting down your brain. Once your brain shut down completely it cannot be restarted. It's just a pile of meat. Same here. They will die in minutes because of suffocation and body function not operating.

@@HBKilluminati7 to be fair, i have noticed a couple of times where i have sprayed a roach or other insect with raid, and it appears completely dead/paralyzed, and then the next day or 2 later (if i just leave it lying there in the garage) ill notice a leg twitch or something and it like borderline looks like it's coming to life again. Dunno if it always KILLS them even though I dowse them in a shit ton of it lol. sometimes theyre like relentless zombies

I saw a cockroach on the wall of my bathroom. I sprayed him, he fell down, ran stray for few seconds and then turned upside down on his shell. I watched him carefully. He tried hard to stretch his legs but failed. Felt kinda bad for him and all his sufferings. And that brought me to this video to understand that pain of him. It is nice that this chemical give them easy death.

Very interesting. Sprayed insecticide on a cockroach in my garage last week. It stopped moving almost instantly. 24 hours later he was in the same spot but his antennae were still moving.

I first saw this video a few weeks ago and it was news to me that they were just paralyzed, thereafter, after spraying roaches, instead of just sweeping them into the trash bin, I take them outside and step on them until I hear a crunch. I was kinda furious at the thought that I possibly let some of them live before. Well, that would Never. Happen. Again.

This doesn't quite match my observations. When hit with insecticides, flies and cockroaches try to clean themselves, then move erratically until they end up on their backs with legs kicking spastically. When they stop moving, they are dead. In hot, dry conditions the body dries out within hours. Paralysis and starvation are not factors.

it is also a stomach poison. obviously an overdose occurs in most situations especially with killing them with something like a can of mortein or similar. pyrethrins are usually used for long term residual products and rely on the insect to go over a sprayed area enough to get a lethal dose. so when it is dry the cockroach will still make contact with the product but at a lower dose slowly interupting the nervous system.

This may be true in certain situations... But it's not true of raid that I'm using. They die outright as soon as they are sprayed and it look painful and or agonizing... It's quite rewarding to see them suffer after being grossed out by their presence in my abode... I live in a duplex and I didn't have roaches until a certain new neibor came along.

Does it do the same thing with flies? When you spray them, they increase their speed and fly around erratically, bumping into everything in sight until they don't have the energy to keep it up, then they buzz around for a while until it ends.

Does it also somehow expand their bodies? Coz I just gave the roaches at my home a nice dose of insecticide and they've died now but are double their sizes.. And now the triggering part ( *TW*) I tried to stamp one or two and heard a big loud crunch, it was the case with the baby roaches too

That was informative, thankyou! I do have 2 questions though. 1. Cockroaches can survive being in water ,atleast for 30-40 min . So having holes in the exoskeleton for respiration ,how they don't suffocate? 2. Also,they can still roam around having their head chopped off. But who is signaling to wiggle/walk on their legs ,since brain is already out of picture?

You can very easily find both the answer on google. In short Roaches simply close their spiracles so that no water can enter their bodies, and then travel up the drain. This regulates water loss, so precious water vapor within their bodies won’t be expelled. Because roaches don’t use their mouths to breathe, they can live in this state for up to a week, even without a head. The headless roach will eventually die because it can’t eat or drink without its mouth. Plus, the roach brain does not control this breathing and blood does not carry oxygen throughout the body. So it can breathe without a head.... But it's pretty vague explanation...try to do your own research....

i was wondering why they're half limp and tend to end up upside down when i massacre the entire colony, the weirdest one was they really want to crawl on my leg for some reason, like they prefer my leg over any other cover, maybe they want a last minute revenge.
